I see various web sights sell extra factory Glock barrels. I’m looking to get a Glock 19 barrel for my Glock 26, and then have it threaded for a suppressor. What’s the deal with the serial number. My Glock 26 has a serial number on the frame, slide, and barrel and they all match. What happens if I order an extra barrel?

Yes that is true.

But Glock chooses to serial number all three major components; not because the Feds require it, but for what I assume is quality control issues. Glock doesn’t just take a barrel, slide, and frame and put them together. I don’t really think this would affect performance, but it just wouldn’t seem right and Glock knows it.

So what I’m asking, is when Glock makes spare barrels, to be sold as spares, do they give them a special serial number? Just take the next one coming off the line? Or do they even serial number them at all?

I know it wont matter weather or not the serial numbers match when I level my Glock with the attached SWR GS9-K2 on a BG. But in the mean time it would drive me nuts.

The extra .40SW barrel I bought for my Glock 32 had a serial number, and it was vastly different from the serial number on my pistol... like a different prefix. I don't remember and have since sold the whole package.

It will run fine. These aren't fitted parts.

I am curious, what do you think Glock does with the barrel, slide, and frame?

I think he means that they don't just grab a frame, pull a barrel out of a big bucket and a slide out of another big bucket.

The parts are not fitted, but they are stamped together so they have matching numbers.
