Replace reduced tension springs before selling?

I am going to sell most of my revolvers. All of them have reduced tension Wolf, or Wilson Combat, springs in them. Even the unfired ones. Should the original factory springs be put back in the guns before selling them, for liability or safety reasons? I will probably sell them to a local dealer and could tell him about the springs, and give him the originals.

I personally return a gun to stock condition before selling them to a dealer. Your dealer may not mention this to the next buyer and the springs may not work with the ammo they might use. Gotta remember a lot of people buy a revolver and a box of shells load it up and put it in the nightstand drawer. I'd hate to be resposible for the one in a million chance they might need it only to hear a "click".

If you leave them "as is" the dealer may not pass that information along or might even offer you less money because he figures he might have to switch them out later.

Blueduck pretty much covered it.

Yep, I also would put the stock springs back in because of the liabilty issues. :)

What do you have and what do you want for them? I'm always in the market for a good wheel gun.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll change them back. Have been getting rid of my guns. Sold the rifles and autos to dealers. Still have 20 some S&W revolvers, and a couple NAA. Want to keep just two, but can't decide which ones. Need one to carry, and one to occasionally shoot. Probably one J frame Airweight and a 686+, or 627. A local dealer has offered to buy the others.
