I just watched part of the Letterman show with Bill Clinton. He was spouting off about how the expiration of HIS AWB would help the terrorists and 'W' isn't really supporting the extension.

Should I vote for Kerry?:D

I couldn't watch much more.

I saw it too.......what a crock. Every single word a complete and utter lie. He made it seem like all sorts of select fire guns would be "back on the street" in no time at all.

I wanted to vomit. :fire:

Man, it must really suck to be a former prez watching your legacy get demolished before your very eyes.

It's just amazing how inaccurate and untruthful the antis are when they talk about the Semi Auto Ban. Problem is, the average person who doesn't know guns doesn't know the difference.

Leno had Dennis Miller on the during the same time slot. Why anyone would choose to watch Clinton when they could watch Miller is beyond me. I'll take a good laugh over being sick any day of the week.

Clinton admitted Gore lost largely because of the gun vote. Now Clinton is drumming up the AWB while Kerry acting like a hunter/shooter. The Dems really don't want to go near the gun issue, yet Clinton keeps bringing it up.

Hmmm....

Maybe Clinton WANTS Kerry to lose.

I wonder why...

I saw that interview too. He made it sound like assault rifles are currently unavailable and that after Sept. 2004, the U.S. will be swamped with them.

Don't worry - Kerry will lose. This one is a done deal. "We've turned the corner".

Really? There's a million or so old jews down here that say otherwise. Remember how close the last election was? Less than 1000 votes IIRC. This one could be closer.

What was Dave's reaction when he started to talk about the AWB? Just curious as Dave and Leno seem pretty neutral, or actually make fun of everybody - which is smart. BTW, I wonder if Dave has a CCW with that stalker he had all those years?

I think Bush will win as long as the dead people don't vote for Kerry.

I didn't hear them talk about the AWB. MIller is very outspoken about his support of Bush, don't know about Leno. The one I liked was Miller talking about Kerry and his boating around in Vietnam, he commented "We haven't heard so much about a boat ride since Gilligans Island aired".
Do what I do - when you see a Clinton/Schumer/etc. come on your TV - turn it off or change the channel. They don't have anything new to tell you. You'll live longer.

MIller is very outspoken about his support of Bush, don't know about Leno. Isn't that Miller's shtick though? Kind of smart with all the liberal hollywood types.

I'd guess Leno and Letterman would be publicly neutral because why split your audience?

his 2nd achievement is about to hit the johnny crapper. his other achievement is still staining a dress.

heard clinton reaffirming the terror alert level that it was a good idea. though he went on to say having more troops in afganistan could of brought results earlier. no crap bill hey maybe if clinton had intel and troops in afganistan instead of a few cruise missiles few thousand people could be alive and couple of the world tallest buildings might be around. economy could be doing heck of alot better. saddam could of been deposed years ago just check al gore and clinton in 1992 on saddam. :cuss:

What was Dave's reaction when he started to talk about the AWB? Letterman had no reaction. zero. nada. Letterman just used his show to give the dems a 30 minute commercial.

The only time I've really seen Letterman get somewhat political was years ago when W came on his show. Letterman kept bringing up the death penalty in Texas over and over and really trying to needle W about it. W did well with it though.

Really? There's a million or so old jews down here that say otherwise. Remember how close the last election was? Less than 1000 votes IIRC. This one could be closer.

Uh, perhaps you should use your judgment, and check your facts, before posting a statement like that?

First of all, that statement sounds as prejudiced as Hell.

Second, the vast majority of them voted for Albore the last time, so if they vote the same way this time then nothing changes. The only change will be that there won't be a butterfly ballot again, so the 1,000 or so that MIGHT have inadvertently voted for Buchanan won't do so again.

Third, if they are OLD, then some of those that voted for Albore died in the last 3 1/2 years or so, and some more will die or become incapable of voting between now and November.

Fourth, there are LOTS of people in Florida besides old Jews. They didn't make Florida a close race by themselves, any more than any other group.

Fifth, Joe Lieberman isn't on the ticket this time - that fact alone got lots of (ignorant, in my Jewish opinion) votes for Albore, votes which won't be swayed that way this time.

Sixth, Bush has been (again, in my Jewish opinion) the most pro-Israel president EVER. That WILL sway many Jews, old or not, even in Florida - more votes than the Buchanan-butterfly ballot thing did.

Seventh, there are nowhere near a million Jews in Florida, let alone a million OLD Jews. The entire Jewish population in the US is about 5.5-6 million, most of whom aren't old. Many more are in the NYC metropolitan area, the Chicago metro area OR the LA metro area (i.e. any of them ALONE), than in all of Florida. If there were 500,000 Jews of all ages in Florida, I'd be very surprised. Of those, many are under age 18 and can't vote, many of the rest are not "old," many don't vote anyway and, more importantly, many of those who are old enough to vote (whether old or not) won't vote for Kerry.

and, finally,

Eighth, the polls for Florida that I've seen over the past several months look to be pretty much in Bush's favor.

I'm NOT accusing you of being prejudiced or ignorant (and you're probably neither), but it would help appearances if you would avoid statements like the one you made.

Guys,
Frankly I think Bush has had it! The polls are starting to edge up for Kerry. It's not that Bush will lose by much, it's just that he's been lack lustre even to his own base and he'll lose by a little. You can't lose by just a little in this swing state, and a little in that swing state, and a hair in the other swing state, and expect to win in a tightly divided landscape.

He could win if he really wanted, but he's just not a smart and brave enough political animal. If you ask me, I think he's hoping it will just fall his way. Great strategy!

(If he hasn't got the intestinal fortitude to fire Cheney, then I'll do it for him....sheees! It's not a big freekin deal.)

Remember how close the last election was? Less than 1000 votes IIRC. This one could be closer. Or not. Florida has eliminated a large number of convicted felons from its voter rolls. Last time I saw a number it was 40,000. Thats a lot of Democratic votes down the tubes.

But then again I hear Meek Senior recently registered to vote in Florida, even though he's been dead for 2 decades and last visited the state in 1968.

I don't know man...Kerry did NOT get the post-convention 'bump' in the polls that every democratic nominee normally gets right after the DNC. That's the first time that hasn't happned since 1970 or something.

DigMe Man,
It would look great if Bush gets a big bounce while Kerry didn't. But I have a feeling Bush won't accomplish much with the convention either. I think the American People have caught onto the fact that these conventions are just over worked infomercials.

To top it off, now Bush gets a crappy rating by the media of producing +32,000 jobs (as reported Friday, 8/6/04), instead of the +232,000 new jobs predicted. What a terrible economy: there is 5 1/2 % unemployment in the country! You'd think he helped us lose 132,000 jobs the way the media reports this in such a negative light. Other nations would sell their national soull to have a 10% unemployment rate, never mind 5 1/2% unemployment.

No matter what Bush or kerry does, it gets filtered by the liberal media.
kerry doesn't show up for work and it's not reported. Bush falls off a mountain bike and there's an article with pictures.
Bush has some impressive crowds and it's not reported. kerry has some small groups waiting by the train tracks and it's all over the ten o'clock news.

kerry is unfit to be a senator let alone a president.

Remember how wonderful life was when Congress and the Presidency were all held by the Democrats! Why I loved the double digit inflation, unemployment, and interest rates under Jimmy Carter. He did a swell job giving up the Panama Canal and letting the Reds spread everywhere. What a tough guy he was in boycotting the Olympics! Yes, I am sure Mikey Moore would love to see the likes of Jimmy running the ship of state. He sure was tough on those Iranian hostage takers!

A Republican Congress made Clinton come further to the center than he wanted to be. Clinton messed up in Somalia and never pursued Osama.
Apparently only Monica inhaled as Bill Clinton has denied doing so!

Look on the bright side folks! Maybe Kennedy will give Kerry a lift home sometime! :neener: :D
