Ok, I have a green light to obtain a SIG 552. (Got the financial backing I needed).
Now, the question is, which one...
As far as I know, there are two models.
-"Classic", with fixed sights, and if I want to attach optics, I need a separate rail.

-Weaver rail model, that has backup iron sights.

Are there any others?
How are the backup fixed sights on the Weaver rail model?
What separate weaver rail for the fixed sight model are the lowest available?

If it is available, I'd go for the fixed sights, with a fixed weaver rail.

Does anyone know where to find the best price for a new 552 in Europe? And what is the going LE-only price in the US?

I'm twitching with envy.

If It were my money/choice, I'd go with the version with fixed sights and add the rail.

I don't even have a foggy idea of the US LEO price.

LEO price as of Oct was around $1400-$1500 according to the reps at the IACP convention.

*DROOL*...Hi, my name is Dan, I have Sig 550 series envy. Yes El Tejon, it is a severe case of "iwannacoolgunvirus" ;)

I would go with the standard sights and add the rail provided that the sights won't get in the way of the optic you plan on mounting.
