So I was playing with my BIL's Asp (he's Homeland Security), and now it's stuck open. We've been pounding it into the concrete in my garage (I think I messed up my left shoulder), but no dice. The first section wont go back into the middle section, but the middle section goes into the handle.

Heat, maybe? We've already drenched it w/ CLP and Kroil.

I had one of my agents have the same thing happen to them. Do this, "GENTLY" tap on the part of the shaft of the ASP (holding it sideways and not hitting it where it closes) with a rubber mallet. The shock on the ASP in this area losen it up and you should be able to get at least part of it do collapse when you try to close it again. The agent that I spoke of earlier, did just this and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

yeah try the tapping on side to try to get it unstuck then take it apart and put some grease (not alot) on the tubes where they are supposed to contact and wipe off excess and that should keep it from sticking open but will allow to still close nicely and if it doesnt you can always take solvent to get the grease off so no harm to asp. i did that to mine after i got mine stuck open and it now works great.
