Call it curiousity...

...But, is anyone out there making modern Drillings? I mean, of course they're gonna be custom, and I expect them to be higher than a cat's back, but is anybody even MAKING them?

These are fabulous old guns, and I have to think that there'd be at least a teensy niche market, among the exeptionally wealthy, for a double-barrelled shotgun with a rifle undermounted? If nobody is, then I gotta ask...why? Are they illegal? Too complex? Not worth it? Just too darned funky to 'smith?

As you've probably noticed, I have this...taste...for the oddities of the firearm world. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd be the guy carrying the Dardick with my CCL. Out at the range, shooting my Lemat, my Drillings, and walking-stick shotgun. So many terribly interesting ways to build a gun, and I can't afford ANY of them...oh, well, that's what got me into knifemaking. Maybe I'll take up gunsmithing, next, so I can BUILD me some of these.

:banghead:

Oh, well...back to the grind, so I can save up enough to get a cheap copy of an 1860 Cap-n-ball...*siiiiiiiggggghhhhh*
