Is it possible to install a replacement stock on a plain old Remington, Savage, or Ruger hunting rifle yourself? I've got a hankering for a multi-adjustable target stock around a basic .223 or .308 bolt action.

Pretty nice. Can I install it (or others like it) or should it be done by a gunsmith?
