Check out http://leverguns.sixgunner.com/ and you'll find a whole lotta levergun experience. They helped me out when I was considering buying my first lever gun.

Also, I seem to recall that http://www.gunblast.com/ reviewed a Puma.

Good luck.

(FWIW, the skinny on Pumas seems to be that they are a good value for the $$$.)

I have the Puma M92 in .45LC with the large loop lever and the 16" barrel. I love this gun! I haven't gone hunting and I may never intend to but, I do love shooting this gun on the range. It holds 9 rounds and is right on target. There isn't any kick and not a lot of noise. This is my favorite of all my guns!I've enclosed a pic for you to see.

Edit: I forgot to say the ammo is a little pricey for 50, so the last time I bought re-loads but haven't got to try them out yet

I have a Puma M92 in .357mag. It's a real cream puff to shoot. Out of the box the action was really rough feeling but after a righteous cleaning and oiling it feels pretty good.
