ok, the fellers in shotguns told me to come here... i don't have a manual for the 11-48, and i am trying to take the gun apart. having trouble getting the operating handle out of the bolt. any pointers? what about a manual for this gun?

Check with Remington, they carry manuals for many older guns.

If you goto ( www.stevespages.com/page7b.htm ) there are manuals for just about everything. And if you goto ( www.again.net/~steve/page7a.htm ) there are exploded diagrams .The 11-48 is a recoil operated autoloader and if you look at the diagrams for the 1100 and the 11-48 , it appears that Remington when they made the 1100 , they just changed the operating system to gas operated. DIMENSIONS MAY BE DIFFERENT but in the diagrams everything from the receiver back APPEAR the same. I am not saying parts interchange, they may but I don't know, but disassembly of the bolt handle may be the same as the 1100 and there is a manual for that. GOOD LUCK.
