I'm thinking about buying one of those "non-tactical, redneck looking, gang member carrying switchblades you always see in the movies when trouble is about to start. (little off topic, but you have GOT to see the fight scene in Second Hand Lions!!)
Anyhow, I found a knife dealer in Italy ( via the web ) that sells them, but I'd rather not have to order something that has to go thru customs, sepecially something that has such an infamous history to it. There are thousands listed on E-bay, but there are thousands of cheap knock offs too ( made in China, not real Italian) I'd like to keep it under $50, blade about 4 1/2", nothing more. Brass bolsters and preferably a wood handle.
Can anyone here recommend a dealer in the US that sells them to collectors?

Guys, I'm on a beer budget here! $375 + :what: I'm just looking at the $50 to $75 Italian models. I atually found a dealer that sells genuine Italians, and he took the time to point out the Chinese and Tiawan copys.

again go to www.bladeauction.com and get a beltrame for like $50 bucks....you'll still have beer $ dont sweat it, Dont know about SC but here in FL with CCW Auto's are fine to carry.

Thanks again for the knife auction site. I see the Beltrames for $60 and $80. Now that's my budget! Now I have to decide which handle, stag or water buffalo or......:D

Since some folks DO live in states/communities that have laws against such "evil" knives, weren't there dealers selling these things in un-finished kit form, "some assembly required"?

Dunno about quality, or if it's relevant if you've found what you need, just posting an idle memory. Take it for what it's worth, and what it cost...;)

make sure blade is marked INOX which bascially means stainless in italian

If your looking for an Italian switchblade, I have one I would sale you. Although it's a little bigger than what you originally said you wanted. It is 13 inches over all. A bayonet style blade with Olive wood scales, with brass blosters. I'd sale it to you for 50.00 if you wanted it. I picked it up while I was in Italy a few years ago. It's an attention getter no doubt.
