Breifly, the Ohio Supreme Copurt is set to hear oral arguments of the Hamilton County CCW Ban case April 15. The info below is from the website of Ohioan for Concealed Carry. Visit

for background of the case and details.

FLASH: CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE TO OHIO'S BAN AGAINST CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPONS TO BE HEARD BY HIGH COURT

The Ohio Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments April 15th in a lawsuit from Hamilton County seeking to overturn as unconstitutional a state law which prohibits the carrying of concealed weapons. Justices included the case (02-0585) on their most recent oral argument calendar covering the period through June 3, 2003.

CCW might finally happen in Ohio, even without the Ohio Spineless Senate and Gov. Booby Daft.

My next vote for Gov. Booby Daft will be for his retirement from ANY public office.

Yahooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then maybe.....just maybe we will have our rights back.

I guess I will hold off on getting my Fla. Permit (could carry in every state that touches mine, except MI) and see how this works out.

I also wonder how this will effect the time table on the current proposed legislation?

I wish I could be a confidant (in the OH Sup Ct) as you guys are. As good hearted as 4 of them may be, they all live in ivory towers. They see the worst citizens of our state on a daily basis. They believe that they have reason to fear the unwashed masses (i.e., you and me).

I fear that they may find the affirmative defense portion of the law unconstitutional, but load the opinion up with dicta approval of all kinds of overbearing restriction and regualtion that the legislature will feel empowered to load up the current CCW bill with even more junk.

Ohio is not known for promoting or protecting individual rights, freedom, liberty, and responsibilities. I pray for the best, but fear we will be asked (told) to accept mediocracy. :(

Henry,

I share your concerns about the OSC, especially since they have a history of legislating from the bench.

I believe that the RKBA in Ohio stands a better chance in the supreme court's chambers than in the Ohio Legislature as long as Taft is governor. :barf:
