I had my worn HK P7PSP refinished by Tripp Research. The work was excellent and turnaround was 8 days! [ link to larger image ] ( [ link to larger image ] ( [ link to larger image ] (

The slide flats were "brushed."

Aaarg!! I've got a factory nickel P7M8 that's in pretty good shape. Nickel's flaking off the barrel, but that's about it. I was thinking of sending it off to Tripp's, but now I'm reading that the nickel's pretty rare. Sigh.....

Gotta love those brushed flats!

The price is right, too. Under $200 for the pistol. 'Course, I had 5 mags done along with it.

Nice! Enjoy!!!

Wow. I picked up 2 PSP's a few months ago from SOG when they had a bunch of trade ins. There are some pistols that look good with the chrome/hard chrome treatment, and then there are pistols that look TOTALLY F***ING AWESOME with that treatment.

Don't give money.....wife will be pissed....don't do it!!!!

BTW, I remember reading a while back that TRIPP stopped doing hardchroming. Do I take it that they are once again offering this service?

Mr. Tripp started up his HC business again a few months ago.

To tell you the truth, my other blued one is in such good shape I hate to carry it. This one is beautiful and has a durable finish!

I have always thought that the P7 looks amazing in chrome or nickel.

Do you have to detail strip/remove sights before sending the P7 to Virgil? Or will they do it all for you? Extra cost?

I sent him the gun straight out of my holster.

WOW, that is one slick looking pistol. I really like it. I tried an M8 and didnt like it the first time I shot one, but I keep hearing that I need to try it again. I think I am going to.

That is such a nice pistol.

Very nice!!

I've wanted a chrome or nickel P7 ever since I saw Hans Gruber's in Die Hard.

I was wondering who I'd send my gun to when Tripp closed. Glad to know they're back in business.

Do you have a metal trigger, or did he strip the plastic coating over the trigger and plate over it?

I think my P7 triggers are metal.

I would love for my next pistol to be a P7PSP, but I don't know where to find one! Would CDNN be a good place to start?

Those guns are sooo nice. I'd like to own a PSP one day. Congrats.

Zak, Damn, nice job.....:)
The nice thing about their finish is how easy it is to clean after firing....All the "bad-grime" shows up readily...
I had my Sistema Cobra-Chromed after visiting their facility, meeting Virgil & his staff, in Alpine, TX. some years ago. The drive through the Davis Mts was worth the trip....
At that time, I was under the assumption (due to their work load) that they were very restrictive on what models they would accept...I never asked, but evidently they go beyond 1911's....
