A couple thoughts and questions on laser sites:

Pro/Con? Why? I've read a couple things about their usefulness as an intimidation tool (seeing that red dot on ya makes you think twice), but that they can also make you develop bad habits...

How much difference is there between a $20 laser site designed for airsoft guns and a $200 laser site designed for assault teams?

How hard is it to find a holster that will accomodate them?

Thanks!

If they're anything like scopes, the difference is their ability to handle recoil. Recoil on an paintball gun is nearly non-existant. I'm sure a paintball laser would work fine on a airgun or .22, but I wouldn't mount it on my 1911.

As you can tell from my sig, I'm a nut for lasers - Crimson Trace is the best in my opinion (there have been other threads on this topic). Don't buy a laser for "intimidation" - that's only for LEO's... you do it as a civvie & you'll be arrested!.... (or worse, you'll give the bad guy a chance to shoot you & it will be because justified self-defense on HIS part due to your threat)

Yes, you must be able to shoot with sufficient accuracy without the laser for self-defense. But practicing & using a laser for self-defense may make you more confident and more accurate in SD situations.

I got my lasers because of my old eyes. The laser lets me look out there at the bad guy & not have to wave my front sight around trying to get a fuzzy sight picture.

Shoot safe.
