If you insure your car, boat or jetski through Progressive Insurance, a portion of the money that you send them is going to wind up with anti-gun and radical left wing organizations.

Peter Lewis, the chairman of Progressive, is the secong largest supporter of moveon.org after george soros.

I have heard that and since I am near the corporate HQ, decided to ask about this with a member of Progressive's "upper management" who attends my church, and can confirm the above, but told me that "what he does with his money is his own business"- fwiw.

Unfortunately, I got a driving without insurance ticket a few months ago just when all of my speeding tickets were about to go off of my record, not to mention I am about to turn 25 so I was hoping for an insurance break when my tickets went off. Now I have to get insurance anyways by law if I wanna keep my DL.

This basically means Progressive gets to rape me for three more years. Cool!

Help...me....:(

Hello! It's not called Progressive for nothing. And what I do with my money is my business too!

In current political jargon "Progressive"="Socialist to Communist leaning".

As in the Progressive wing of the Democrat party.

It sounds as if the company is well-named and I'll not be doing business with them.

They were the cheapest I could find. I didn't know about this anti-gun stuff. I am planning on finding someone else anyways as they're still pretty expensive.

I had a very bad experience with Progressive. They got me in at a low rate but every six months they raised my rates quite a bit. I would stay away from them.

I'm actually a member of Moveon.org, and I have to tell you guys... The issue of gun control has never come up in any of their doings. The moment it does, I will resign and tell you about it in this forum.

The mere fact that he contributes to moveon.org is sufficient grounds for my boycott. Moveon.org is supporting rabid anti-gun poiticians.

He had ALSO in the past contributed to anti-gun organizations.

"what he does with his money is his own business" Right. So quit paying premiums and make sure he gets less.

I'm actually a member of Moveon.org, and I have to tell you guys... The issue of gun control has never come up in any of their doings. Of course it hasn't. Clinton even admitted Gore lost because he was a gun control nut. Wait until Kerry gets in; can you say "Canadian" gun control? Thanks for helping these anti's get in by the way.

I had a very bad experience with Progressive. They got me in at a low rate but every six months they raised my rates quite a bit. Typical of companies like this. Life insurance co's will do this too, get you in then raise the rates/terms.

Does anyone see the irony in a leftwing supporting business who uses SUVs as their fleet vehicles?

I had to use their insurace too about 10 years ago as my normal insurance company dropped me over a speeding ticket. Only stayed with Progreesive for about 2 years then switched back to American Family.

Progressive-ly taking away your 2A rights.

Note to self, another company to never do business with.

I don't know about their other business practices, but I've had two very close calls with morons in White "Progressive" jeeps yapping on their cell phones:fire:

It will be a pleasure to put them on my 'sh*tlist'.

I SORT OF wish I didn't care about the 2A and Constitution and the BOR and who ran what business and who was running for president and I could just a an aimless sheeple going through life fat, dumb, and happy.

I WON'T see movies with irritating Hollywood Celebs
I WON'T eat ice cream for Vermont
I WON'T use Progressive Insurance
I TRY not to patronize places that don't allow CCW

It is all so frustrating. :banghead:

The nice thing with our free market capitalist society, as opposed to a socialist progressive society, is that automobile insurance providers are in market marked with open competition for policy holders and customers. As such, you can always shop around and figure would which company you would like to send your money to in exchange for goods and services.

I've had Progressive, 20th Century (21st Century), Wawanesa, Mercury, Nationwide, AIG and others.
It always makes sense to spend a day or two calling the various companies and getting quotes. If you are organized, you can provide all of the information they need to give you a mailed or phone quote in a few minutes. Lets see, you need the VINs of your car/s, tickets you have gotten within the last 3 years, estimated number of miles for each car/s, number of years you have been driving/licensed to drive, and where the car/s are to be garaged.

I have no qualms with moving from one insurance provider to another, depending on their premiums. I think that my doing so provides a valuable service to the market in that it forces even more competition and lower rates. Now if everyone were to do this on a bi-annual basis...
