If you have an Academy Sports near you, they're currently selling Remington 870 Express 12 or 20 ga, youth model or standard, for $199. There's a 25 buck mail-in rebate, making your sting ~ $174. Thought I'd let y'all know....

:D
I arrived back in town to learn of this. I had some messages and emails. I have been asked to help some folks with some buying. :D

<snicker> You see a fella in Central AR "helping folks" , might be me. Especially if there is more than one buggy , cases of ammo, cases of clays, and the CC is smoking , check book is thin and the wallet is just plum tuckered out. :p

Or, if you want the Wingmaster grade, Academy gets $459, or did a couple of months ago. I think the difference is worth it, if you care about your gun's appearance. Of course, some just want function...

Another heads up for those folks with a Bass World/Outdoor World store near them. Their recent sales flyer has the new 870 express for $199 after rebate and price reduction.

Arundel Mills Mall has a stack of them. Might take the plunge.....

00, do it. I seem to recall you do OK with an 870...

Thanks for the info, Hutch. To which B'ham Academy did you go?

Thanks,

I saw the Academy ad and was interested for that price. I have an old 1100 that I hunted with for years, but I thought of getting the 870 just because it's a good price and to have around for maybe a little casual clay-busting. Heck, I don't even hunt anymore, but the price attracted me.

You real shotgunners let me know if that's a price "too good to pass." If so, I may go snag one for, heck, I don't know why, just because it sounds like a bargain. Academy is just down the block.

Also, I know there are several models of the 870. Is there anything missing from this sale model that I might want to pay more for if I just want to bang some non-competition clay?

Thanks

An Express for $200 or so is an awful lot of gun for the money. Good price, but not a steal.

Add two choke tubes, IC and Full, and you're ready for all things flying.
