Is it possible to post the same picture in two different threads? I tried using the edit feature in the past to make a correction and I wasn't allowed so I assume that feature is reserved for the moderators. I assume there must be a way and would appreciate some help. Thanks

Yes, it's fairly simple to post the same picture in two different posts.

If the picture is external from THR (i.e., not an attachment), simply use the IMG tags as usual in both posts.

If the picture is an attachment (probably your situation here), go to the post that has the attachment and view the picture. With the cursor over the picture, right click and select "properties". Copy the exact address of the attachment. Go to the second post and use that address within the IMG tags just as if it was an external link.

Check back here if that procedure doesn't work.

BTW, there is a timelimit on the edit feature in messages you post. I think it's something like 4 days, afterwhich there are no changes.

I'm still doing something wrong. I can't copy using the copy and paste if that's what you meant. I can copy but when I go to the new thread the paste function isn't there. Did you mean to copy the address out by hand and type it into the attachment space on the new thread? Sorry to be so dense, but I would like to be able to do this.

No, you don't use the attachment space in the new thread. You can attach the exact same picture only once.

I don't know why you say the paste function isn't there. That isn't anything THR has control over. It is a fundamental function of your browser/opsys. I guess you can copy the address down by hand if necessary, but typos enter into the equation then.

The attachment address is going to be something like: http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=1185654
(I shamelessly borrowed that address from Hawk in the "What do you carry" thread.)

In the new thread, surround that address with the IMG tags like so: {IMG}http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=1185654{/IMG}
(Replace the {} with [].)

That results in this: http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=1185654

Thanks, I've got it now. I didn't know what an IGM tag was.
