Basically, I just want opinions about the gun. I know I could get a 10/22 or Model 60 for a lot less but I can't help but be drawn in by a 50 round drum mag full of 22lr... :uhoh:

I have one. I got it in the late '80s and it certainly was a blast. The 50 round drum was kick ass to unload, but time-consuming and hard on the fingers to load. Heavy too. I was a bit rough on the gun (teenagers!) and broke the stock at the neck and it has sat in storage ever since. I don't know what they go for now price wise, but I remember paying about $250.00 back then. If they are much more than that now I would skip it as you can have the same amount of fun with a 10/22.

Where are you finding one for sale? I could use some spare parts!

Find yourself a Calico .22. 50/100rd magazines and not that difficult to load. Can still find them for around $350-450.

Aw never mind. I just found out about all the stuff I can do to a 10/22. Folding stock, flash hider, barrel shroud...or I could buy one of those MG42 kits. Not to mention the 30 and 50 round mags that are available for it.
