...and they are sold out. He said they sold out a long time ago.
And of course, Aim Surplus gets some captured German Mausers... for almost twice the price!

You didn't try to order one of those Mitchell's Mausers did you? Those aren't German guns, they are yugoslavian manufactured mauser clones. I can't stand seeing that company's ads in the NRA magazines and the CDNN catalog because it is misleading.
The AIM gun I got was a Russian captured DOU 43 semi-kriegsmodell. I was kinda disappointed because I wanted an earlier-war version with the bayo lug and cleaning rod hole drilled. I added a bayo lug and early war front band myself but still don't have a hole for the cleaning rod. :scrutiny:
Here's a picture of it after I stripped that ugly red Russian lacquer and refinished it in Tung oil.
