I have one and was thinking trying it. Am I just stupid or what? :D

I have tried. Didn't work. Not enough recoil.

Maybe if I use magnums? :D

I should add that mine hasn't been cleaned in eons. Action is quite gritty. Might have something to do with it. :p

Maybe I'll clean it and give it a shot... (pun intended) :D

No offense but I really don't think you get what bump firing is. It is using the recoil of the rifle to move in relation to your stationary finger such that the rifle fires again upon return to its original position.

If you are "bump firing" with a 22 LR in a Marlin 60, I don't think you really are bump firing. You are moving your finger. If you aren't moving your finger, you've re-written the laws of physics.

I know exactly what it is. I haven't tried it with the Marlin, I was just asking if anybody had done it. Maybe I'll try it and see when I get back out in the country next week or the week after.

Sorry after re-reading my post it came off as very unfriendly. That wasn't my intent. Note to self, don't post late at night after whiskey.

If you've gotten the trigger down light enough it could work, Marlin 60s with very light triggers are notorious for firing doubles on their own. Something about the trigger/sear relationship uses the trigger pull weight to keep everything in check.

I assume you were kidding on the magnums!

Haven't bumpfired one; but I did use one of those little gatling cranks on one (BMF Activator I think)...lots of fun; but heat becomes an issue.
