A while back I posted (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7633&highlight=leupold) that I decided to get some work done on my scopes by Premier Reticles. I just got them back the other day and it looks like they did great work! I'll be able to confirm it after I get them re-zeroed

Additionally, there was a thread about scopes with mil-dots (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3772&highlight=leupold) discussed here.

Which leads to this observation: Upon the return of my 6.5-20x50, Premier Reticles had marked both the scope and power setting adjustment ring with white dots. When the white dots are lined up, the mil-dots will subtend correctly. The funny thing was that the marking was more in the 13x range than at 10x where I thought it should be.

So, I called them up to find out what the scoop was. They told me that the power markings are only "approximate" and that the location where they put the dot is the exact location of the 10x setting and where the mil-dots will correctly subtend.

So, if you have one of these scopes and your range estimation just isn't working out, check to see if your scope and power adjustment ring have markings on them. If not, you may want to consider contacting the manufacturer.

I took the day off yesterday to zero my rifles. Everything performed very well and I absolutely love the M1 style turrets that replaced the original "target" turrets on my 6.5-20x50 LRT scope.

Best shot of the day was a dead-center bullseye at 250 yards with my Barrett. Best 3-shot group was just over an inch at 250 yards with my customized Rem 700 in .308.

The Leupold spotting scope (12-40x60 with Gen2 mil-dots) easily showed the .30 cal holes at 250 yards. Can hardly wait to get out to some greater distances!

Maybe play with your loads and you might get that to shrink some!

I don't have the dies yet for .308, but I've been saving my brass for when I do (plus the other components for my XL650). All of those shots were with Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr HPBT.

My best group with the Barrett was between 3 and 4 inches at 200 yards, firing re-manufactured ball ammo from Watson's Weapons. So far, this stuff has been by far the most accurate. I'm sure I'll be buying from him again.

I really, really need to start dry-firing practice at home. I know that I'm pulling some of these shots because of flinching.

Yeah I noticed that on my Long Range from PR too for 10X and 20X (not being set at 10 and 20 on the dial). I figured, as they had comfirmed with you, that their testing was probably more accurate that what the dial says.
