FAL pictures

Help a guy out. Here I am, in Qatar, twelve thousand miles from my FAL, forced to carry an M16 every day.

So help me out. Show me pictures of your FAL rifles, and in two weeks when I probably get my next day off I'll come back and look them over. LOL

Sure! Here's a whole folder of them:

And here's what it looks like right now if you don't want to check the link:

How's that M16 workin' out for you? Any complaints, other than it not being the free-world's right arm? ;)

Well, hard to say. I haven't fired it since I qualified. I haven't had the opportunity to clean it but once, and the sand here has a way of getting into things. Ugh.

Needless to say I'm not terribly confident in it right now. It's simply disgraceful that I'm carrying a rifle around that's dirty as mine is, but what can I do? I can't clean it on duty and I turn it into the arms room when my shift ends.

If anybody wants to send me one of those little black plastic M16 muzzle caps I'd be very appreciative...

Damn, you take care of yourself over there. We appreciate what you are doing!

Here's my two FALs. The top one is a DSA SA-58 and the lower one is an all Imbel Para. The para is my favorite rifle that I own, slightly edging out my Garand for that coveted position.

What's your address for the muzzle cap?

Ditto the address request.
Anything else you want/need? Anything for any of your buddies?
Anything! Gear, books, magazines...
You are over there with sand in your rifle and everywhere else, I am sitting in an airconditioned office about ready to go out to lunch. I think I could make some time, effort and expense to help out in any way possible!
Please, let me know!

Do you have anything in the muzzle? I have heard of good results from earplugs. Got to get it all the way into the bore (and be sure to not shoot yourself while fussing with the dangerous end) but they seal up well, and shoot clear when you pull the trigger the first time.

I am not trying to harangue you about keeping your gun clean, but I'm suprised they don't actually /make/ you clean it before turning it in.

I'd also suggest, with my limited experience, carrying a tiny can of CLP spray. You don't want it that wet all the time, but if it goes to hell in a fight, and there is time to duck behind a wall, soak it with CLP, rack it hard 5-6 times and it should run for a little while. This has worked for me in the past (but I've never been to the mid-east).

Thanks huge for all you and the rest of our guys and girls do! This to a fellow FAL man!

STG-58 kit on a DSA Type I rcvr with lightweight lower, Penguin buttstock, TAPCO SAW grip, FSE HTS set, VOW A2-style rear sight, and an old TAPCO AK-style charging handle. Tapco T-48 handguards and DSA T48 triggerguard:

Nice shots dude! I was wondering how the T-48 HG's would look on my rifle and your pics pretty much show me-looks good!

Thanks critter. I love the T48 styling, too. Just make sure that your rifle/kit has a full length gas tube so your gas piston isn't exposed from the top. You made a good move by waiting to decide though, since the price has dropped $20 since I bought mine!
