Okay, what is your, "Gotta have it!" gun?

What is the especially desirable gun you WILL immediately buy when you see it? Presumably it's something fairly rare, that you can't just order through a dealer, but really have to hunt to find.

Leave out fantasy guns like Teddy Roosevelt's .405, .45 Lugers, or George Custer's last pistol. Stick to things that most folks could realistically afford.

In my case, it's a Colt New Frontier Single Action Army. .44 Special, 5.5" barrel. Gorgeous case colors, adjustable sights. I believe they were only made in the 3rd generation - highly useful caliber, can take hotter loads than a .45 Colt SAA, elegant balance and feel, and only a few hundred made. Most are the 7.5" barrel version. I have seen maybe four of them in 20 years, always when I could not afford it.

What's your "gotta have it!" ????:)

do you mean for this week? lol
I seem to find a new 'got to have it' gun right after I get the last one.
Today, the one I want is another old Browning A5. Or maybe another early '50s Winchester Model 70 in 30/06.

BZZZZTTTT

A five figure price makes it a fantasy gun:) Four figures or less!

I'll add for rifles, a clean fairly priced Model 71 Deluxe Winchester, preferably one with the receiver sight, and not the bolt sight.:)

Ditto a Pre 64 Model 70 in .338 mag.

Well in that case I already have my "gotta have it " gun. Got my first AR-15 almost 3 years ago and just traded it in on a new Bushmaster Postban M4. The gun I've wanted since I was about 14 years old and now that I have it.....it ain't ever goin anywhere. :)

Like Dbl0Kevin, I wan an MP5! http://www.computerpannen.com/cwm/contrib/blackeye/AR15firing.gif

Also would like a pair of Rock Island Armory 1911's to trick out completely. Would rather do it myself than have someone else do it.

If it werent for the $2500 price tag, I would go for a SA M21. For that price I could get a Remington 700 Police tricked out with all the goodies TWICE!

Enfield L39 or Enfield Envoy spring to mind as the one I'll whip out the cash for.

If they follow through and produce it domestically, the Sig 550 in S/A will be another.

Expensive though.

A Colt Shooting Master Flat Top (New Service with adjustable sights) in .45 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel. (I have a New Service, fixed sights, 7 1/2" barrel.)

A Colt Model 1911A1 Gold Cup (I know where there is one, and one day I'll break down and buy it.)

A Ruger SP101, 3 1/8" barrel in .357 (bought one for my daughter and wish she'd give it back.)

A CZ 527 American Classic in .223 Remington.

A Lefevre double, 12 gauge, 28" barrels, modified and improved cylinder.

A Model 99 Savage in .250-3000 (my Dad's favorite rifle -- he killed lion, cheetah, Kudu and many other head of game with it in Ethopia in the late '40s)

I guess I already have one of my gotta have it guns. A Makarov. My current gotta have it gun is a 1911. Probably a Norinco to replace the one stolen form me.

Being often broke, any gotta have it gun for me must stay around the $500 or less mark.

A minigun in .308. I have access to everything else but this seems to be my unicorn. We had a 240B go up in country and I gave the PBO the NSN for the minigun instead of the 240. He did not catch it until the price came up on the PO. I tried to convince him and the Ol' Man that it was the right way to go and the right NSN and there was a mistake in the computer, but at 12 times the price they would not buy it.

Someday, Somehow I will get my paws on one.

1. A really nice M1 carbine that is almost fine enough to be a collectable but doesn't quite make it as a collectable and is really just a good, tight, shooter.

2. An M1 carbine that is in decent shape and is a good, tight, shooter.

3. An M1 carbine that doesn't look like much but has a decent bore and is a good, tight shooter.

A subgun.

I already have a EBR, two shotguns (one semi, one pump), a handgun and a distance rifle. I want a good compact pistol caliber subgun. Ideally it would be a select fire Heckler and Koch MP5, MP5/10, or UMP-45. Since we are dealing with "reasonable priced" guns, I'm still looking for a good subgun even if I have to pay $200 for a SBR...

Hard question. There are many choices that are not truely tangible, so I won't both mentioning the H&K full-autos I would like to.

Honestly, my next purchase will either be a Walther P99, Walther G22 rifle, or a H&K USP. Not sure which it'll be though...

I'd really like a Colt Patterson copy... they are available but they are always pricey.

Someday I'll buy an SAA. No frills, .45 cal.

And maybe an 1878 New Frontier Six Shooter.

I'd like to get another NewService in good mech. condition and make a Fitz out of it.

But if I win the lotto... I'm blowing the $25 grand it takes to buy a BAR.

THEN I'll buy the double rifle, or a Rigby mauser.

A Colt .45 from the WW2-Vietnam era...

Or a real AK-47 with selective fire...

I'll have to settle for my SAR1 and the Colt .25 I recently acquired...

It's close, but it's like comparing a fine Cuban cigar to a Swisher sweet...

If I had a million dollars?

A Brown Bess flintlock, a Colt Walker, a 1903 Springfield with proper scope, WW2 era Colt .45acp, A tommy gun, A true B.A.R., a broomhandled Mauser, a Waffen SS Luger, a Walther PPK with silencer, A Stoner M-63a, An AK-47, An M-14, A Barret light 50, An M-4 Carbine with an M203 tube launcher, An H&K MP5SD3, A Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 AE, A Vulcan minigun with the man portable mount like Jesse Ventura carried in Predator...
And a REAL Hum-V with a Ma Duece ridin shotgun...
I promise I won't be spoiled by winning the lottery. Honest...
