I like guns and never miss an oppurtunity to stop in an interesting out of the way gun shop. Since my interests are not in the latest mega blaster, but usually something in the 1910-1960 range(the golden age of firearms IMHO) I can get them in some other state and ship them into Kali (thru an ffl holder but with my C&R license cutting cost and paperwork) with no hassles. Anyway I found an 85% (easily) model 43 Winchester 1953 as original ,in .22hornet for $300 in an out of the way NH gunshop. $250 CASH and I had it shipped (extra) to kali. I wanted one of these a long time. In another state I found a Model 1899 .250-300 Savage. That is the model designation of this take down rifle ,all original except for a Marbles tang peep (sweet!) in 90% with sharp bore, tight no cracks in the old (1919) dark varnished wood. This pistol gripped very light petite finely finished(has a crisp 4-5lb trigger!) rifle was made 1914-1921 only! I paid gladly $350 for it and look forward to shooting it on a nostalgia blacktail hunt? The last gun was a local purchase when I got back it was in my local haunt and I snagged it for $250 real quick. It is a early 1967 (walnut stocked) 788 Remington in .44mag. It has a Redfield mount with the pop up peep that I really like (don't know why they stopped making them in the 80's???) and is in 98%+ except for a trashy tasco scope that I replaced with an old K2.5 Weaver . Looks like something to drop small blacktail deer pronto to 100yards with it's 2" groups of Hornady 240 grain XTP and the 6 point that has been eating my apples will taste it next week! To me this $1000 is invested wisely in appreciating durable goods that provide me and mine with enjoyment and future value!:D ;) :D

How did CA ever create a loophole allowing such dangerous guns to be brought into the state? Horrible!

Better close up that "Loophole" so there are some gems left for me!
