Okay, I admit it. I picked up this NASCAR magazine because of the tease on the cover,"Trophy Girls>>Brash, Blonde and Beautiful The Original Queens of Racing".

But inside was an interview with Ted Nugent ("What Ted is Thinking") which was very interesting. The opening picture was one of Ted, wild-eyed and open-mouthed, a Glock in his right hand (can't tell which one, they all look alike to me) and an elaborate hunting bow rig in his left. According to his intro he was in "...Crawford, Texas...sitting here with two loaded shotguns and a Glock on my belt, not two miles from President Bush's ranch. People are driving by, and they're waving! I'm so easy to know.".

The interviewer asked him some 17 questions, "About xxxxx" and Ted gave his thoughts on the subject.

EXCELLENT answers! Thoughtful, sometimes profane, but intelligent to the point of being worthy of being read by everyone! I knew the man was quite a complex and talented individual but his answers add a new dimension of respect for his philosophy and beliefs.

One of the funniest lines:

About Chain Saws: (a partial quote) Chain saws and women! You've got to watch it when you've got either one in your hands."

Ted's a 10mm fan so it was either his G20 or G29 :D

Ted had a so called reality show on VH1 or something in which he was cutting down this little piddly tree and he nicked himself with the chainsaw. Accidents surely happen but how embarrassing can you get?

Had the pleasure meeting the man prior to his concert at the House Of Blues several years ago. He does like his 10mm glocks. Great guy!!!

Boy do I disagree with Ted a LOT. I mean a GLOCK 10mm? Come on?!!?

Seriously though, I love what he is doing for our sport. At least he stands up for it.

And now that he's added chainsaws to his repritore....what's not to like?!?

"Ted's a 10mm fan so it was either his G20 or G29 "

It was a full-size Glock so it must have been his G20.

Oh, he also had a "1 asterisk" hat on.

I knew that Ted had a ranch around here somewhere but I didn't know it was in Crawford. There's a guitar store in town that sells half guitars and half bow-hunting/archery supplies. How's that for a combo? I've heard that ole' Ted has some affilitation with that store (Lone Star Guitar). I've also heard that he bagged some of the large game trophies that are displayed upstairs in the store.

Had the pleasure of meeting the Nuge at the NRA convention a couple years ago. What a great guy! And his wife is just as friendly and real. His TV show "Surviving Ted Nugent" was very popular with everyone I know, especially the parts where he forced the "animal rights" types to face the realities of the food chain. Ted is one of the best representatives out there today for the shooting and hunting communities, a modern day equivalent of Teddy Roosevelt.

Ted Nugent is one of my favorite people of all time (see sig). I absolutely love to hear him interviewed, because on the one hand he has this glorious attitude that's like a hoisted middle finger to the primarily liberal celebrity community, but on the other hand, he's fantastically articulate and intelligent, as well as passionate. I love the guy.

Plus, he plays a mean guitar! :D
