They are a pile of fun to shoot . What impressed me most about the one I had was the lack of muzzle climb in rapid fire . It was even fun to fold the stock and rip off 20 rounds from the hip , good therapy you could say :)
Hope the guy that got it is still as happy as you are now , enjoy !!

Three words: S&H Registered Sear.
You own the ONLY gun that has more registered sears than potential host guns. I think the conversion will only set you back around $1,500.

Aw, yes, but it needs a paratrooper model folding stock..;)
Oh, how about a picture doing your best Al Pacino (in HEAT) pose with that beauty..:D

Thanks, guys.
SteyrAug: That was the biggest selling point for me. I don't have the money now, but soon. I have a whole year before I can go NFA, I'm 20, but I'm afraid the price might go up then. That is why I might get my Class 3 friend buy one now at the price and then when I turn 21 he can sell it to me (Is this legal? I don't think it is a strawpurchase, but I don't want to take any chances).
Schuey2002: U know I've been doing my best Pacino impression, but over acting made my head hurt. :D I'll try and get a picture up.
I now know what my collecting theme is! I'm collecting Michael Mann movie and tv guns. All I have to go by is Heat right now, but they've got to have Miami Vice on syndication somewhere:D

Has anyone tried these guys before? They seem to have a lot of FNC parts here which I can't find anywhere, thanks.

It would be legal for your friend to buy it and then sell it to you, but it would be impractical. Not only would he have to pay the $200 tax (in addition to you paying it when you buy it from him), but the background check and paperwork on him could still be in progress when you turn 21.

AVOID like the plague, that's Dana Reed. Probably the single biggest gun business crook on the internet. He is banned everywhere, but pops up under different names.
Take a look

another48hrs, prices are gonna be kinda fixed with no new FNCs coming in and a surplus of registered sears. Also remember this isn't exactly a drop in sear. You are gonna need it professionally installed.
Just wait a year and send it to Curtis for the conversion and you are good to go. I'm gonna resist telling you the quick tie trick cause it's illegal. :D
The only spares your gonna need is a couple firing pins, though I'm still on my originals. Ask around the FalFiles for FNC parts so you avoid the Dana Reeds of the world.

Thanks, JG . It seemed too good to be true:( . I think I'll just stick with sturmgewehr.com and cole distributing for parts.
JG, do you know where I can find a manual for the thing? I may just get a photocopy one off the internet or the next gunshow, but is there a pdf file somewhere on the interenet? I am trying to field strip the thing, but have no idea how to get the charging handle out of the bolt carrier and wondering about the gas adjustment tool, which direction is for what, I believe one direction is for the grenade launcher?

No problem, I absolutely hate seeing other fellow gun enthusiasts being burned.
On the gas adjustment, position 1 is for normal conditions (left) and position 2 (right) is for adverse conditions.
Without the manual in front of me, I don't want to give advice on how to takedown the gun. Would be best for you to see it anyhow.
Not sure where to find the pdf online, but if you scroll down a bit here......you can order the manual for $5 (assuming you can't find it somewhere on the web).

I apologize if this is a "first day of class" question. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about semi-auto pistols and "modern military-style" semi-auto rifles, but I don't know much about full-auto.
The full-auto sears that you mentioned for the FNC... Are these "pre-sample" registered sears that anyone can own (in a legal state, after passing the BG check, and paying much $$$) or are they "post-sample" so that Another48hrs would have to get a license of some sort to own one?
In an effort to contribute rather than just be a thread-moocher...
Here's a tech manual (http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=7516407) on GunBroker.com
Thanks!

JG: I found out how to get the charging handle out and the whole bolt carrier came out. It seems theres a little whole underneath the dust cover where you can pull out the handle. Thats about it, I dare not go any further without a manual.
El Tejon: I'm sorry I found this locally for a good price and couldn't pass it up it just felt so good in my hands, like butter.
I took it out to the local 50yd indoor range today and used a box of PMC 55g. I had a problem with a failure to feed when I put in an odd number in the magazine, but everytime it was an even number of bullets it fed perfectly. I am thinking this is because the mag doesn't really work with the FNC, or so I've heard anybody? I was using a Labelle ar15 mag that came with it, I didn't have any of my other mags with me.
Other than that it was a blast to shoot. It was already sighted in for center mass which is good, because I don't have a manual. I was getting nice groups at 50yds, but it could be better if the trigger was a little bit lighter but hey its an assault rifle. Maybe, I'll save up for a Williams Trigger Job in the future.
