I wasn't aware any military units employed rimfire weapons. Kinda neat.

Awesome. I now have even more respect for my 10/22. I just re-finished it too, it's looking good.

On another note, are those supressors civilian-legal?

sort of. They must be registered with the ATF and the tax paid. It will definately cost you more than the 10/22 did, but what alot of fun.

After several incidents involving the death of Palestinians by the Ruger fire, the IDF conducted a field experiment in the Ruger at the IDF Sniper School in Mitkan Adam under the supervision of the IDF Judge Advocate General (JAG). The test showed that the Ruger was more lethal then thought especially in upper body injuries. Hmmmmm. Mouseguns ARE lethal. Whoda thunk.

Wonder what sort of testing was involved? Volunteers?

Oh, yeah. That little 40 grainer will enter a cranial or thoracic cavity, but won't exit. Of course it will bounce around a little before it stops. :D

Jeff Cooper recommended a scoped suppressed .22 rifle for stopping riots (shoot the lead rioter in the chest once, it'll certainly get his attention and stop him from leading). Although he said you'd need a very good shot to do it.

If you get an internally supressed Ruger XX/22barrel it can be put in any Ruger 22, a 77/22 or 10/22 and I think a 96/22 the lever action.

Hmm. I had never thought of that. If one desires to purchase a suppressor and pay the $200 tax, this seems to be about the best option.

Then you could have a bolt action, semi-auto, as well as a lever action and only pay the transfer tax once. :)

Or just get a removeable can... :D
