Mercedes Benz has AMG, BMW has its M-cars, what if HK had its (for lack of a better term :D ) Skunkworks? What you like to see HK do w/ it's handguns for consumption by the general gun buying public?

Me, I'd like to see either a Expert 45 &/or 9 w/ a lighter trigger & shorter reset and truly be competitive w/ more custom race guns. I'd like to see a successor to the P7 line that is both innovative & practical.

Skunkworks
LOL!! How appropriate.:D

I'd like to see a line of "clear" USP's.:D Or, a line of carbon fiber framed models.. ;)

OBTW, Alpina could also be considered a "Skunkworks" division of BMW as well...

Chalk me up for Skunkworks!

What would really be nice would be if a true "custom shop" was up and running. Pipe dream, I know, but if I could get a 10mm Expert with a stainless slide, a P7M7, or perhaps, dare I say it, a 10mm stainless slide P7M7, my joy would know no bounds.

BTW, if you go on hkpro.com in the shopping area, they have something called Grayguns, referring, I think, to Bruce Gray. Three different trigger jobs are offered, at the last one, a competion trigger job, claims a pull weight of ~ 2.2 pounds with a vastly smoother pull and much shorter reset.

Downside is that it costs $200 bucks. Still, I think that if positive reports can be found on the trigger job, I'll send my USP off at the end of the summer to have this performed. It has been my experience that the quality of the trigger pull is the biggest single factor in how much I enjoy shooting a pistol.

$200 is relatively cheap if you consider the match trigger I had installed on my USP 9 was $150. I haven't been to HKPro in a while...perhaps I'm due a visit.

Whoa, that's a bit of coin for just a trigger!

The local gunshop quoted me a similar price for the trigger about a year ago. I thought that they were just jerking my chain or didn't really want to go through the hassle of odering and installing it. It appears I was incorrect.

I've seen it for more than that. The guy was saying he was a HK dealer, but he was charging $300+ for the trigger parts + installation. I bought my trigger from a guy who installed the parts w/ the purchase since I was local and could go to him and not have to ship.

Not really much you can do with an HK...I like leaving them more or less stock.

No need to send it off for an ambi or extended mag release--it's fine the way it is. You can get parts to get any manual of arms preference. You can get the big name Novak, Heinie, Trijicon sights and factory target sights (not sure if they're any good never used them...) or ghost rings. No need for a 'reliability job' or 'slide to frame fit job'.

Only thing I think would be neat are carbon fiber or metal parts.

I would like to see a Mark 23 without the threaded barrel for Prk sales.:)

10-Ring, how much better did the trigger pull get with the addition of that match trigger? I'm curious.

It's the same trigger as found in the Expert, the Tactical & now the Elites. The trigger was already pretty smooth, but now, it's also lighter. The only thing I would improve on the Match Trigger kit is for the SA reset to be ALOT shorter.

All I want is some carbon fiber grips for my p7 and I blame skunk for that.

Hmm wonder how people it would take for carbon creations to make them.
