Capt. Frank Bem of the Dakota Territories raised a company of sharpshooters (1870s) who may have served briefly with Custer & the 7th Cav.
Can anyone also provide info on Cooke's Sharpshooters who provided overwatch while Custer's men attacked Black Kettle's camp at the Wa****a in the middle of winter? TIA.
