Are there currently any rifles (carbines) that fire the 10mm Auto as it's round?

Only two that I know of, at least factory produced. HK MP10 and you can get a 10mm cabine barrel for a TC.

I have been kicking around the idea of taking a .40 short and weak carbine and attempting to convert it, but just havn't gotten around to it yet.

I've been tweaking around with the idea, that people would buy an M1Carbine that takes a 10mm Glock magazine..

Olympic Arms also makes a 10mm carbine, the PCR-10, that uses the AR platform.

I wish there were a few more 10mm rifle makers out there. Also I hope someone other than Olympic Arms will make a AR in 10mm, I have heard some very unflattering things about Olympic Arms ARs, especially the pistol caliber ones.

If Beretta made the Storm in 10mm, I might be inclined to get it. How would the 10mm perform out of a longer barrel?

I dont know why anyone would want one for plinking. I can pick up a box of WWB .223 for cheaper than a 50box of 10mm. Seems kinda pointless to this college student...

But this is also coming from the guy who wants a lever-action 10mm too. So add a grain of salt to your diet...;)

I have an Oly in .45ACP and so far it's been great. Must have a thousand plus rounds and no problems. It's the only Oly I've dealt with so maybe just got lucky, but other than not being able to get high cap mags for it anymore, no complaints.:)

I would love to have a handy little 10mm carbine for woods deer hunting.

SERIOUS MODE = ON
Check out Aramlon. They make a 10mm Enfield conversion.

You can always wait a hundred or so years for the M41A pulse rifle in 10mm caseless. (from the movie Aliens) :)

MechTech makes a 10mm conversion here (http://www.mechtechsys.com/glock.html). Takes Glock mags and is quite versatile. I am jones'n for a 9mm or 40s&w.

I've had no problems with my Oly 10mm carbine. Eats everything I put in it. The only malfunction I've ever had was because I didn't have the magazine fully seated.

Couple questions:

1) Does the PCR-10 use a standard AR lower, or a special on for the different mag?

2) Where do the mags come from?

Nicely evil looking rifle, btw.

It's a standard AR lower. I used a modified Colt 9mm mag block and Uzi 20 round .41 AE mags.

How does the whole mag-block/mag set-up work?

I think that'd make a dandy HD carbine to back up my Remy 870.

There were a very small number of Thompson aka Tommy Guns made in 10mm Auto

My 10mm "rifle" is not nearly as nice as Nordic's but it's cheaper and easier to acquire and it sure is fun - I'll post a pic later when I get home from work this evening. If I forget, PM me to remind me if you want to see it.

A gun designed from the start as a pistol caliber rifle/carbine I can understand. But modding an AR for it? No.

I think I just found my pet peeve idiocy. I suppose it works for people, but I don't know if I'd get one if you paid me to do it.

I am not a fan of taking an AR and making it into anything and everything..

The 10mm should have enough emph to carry out to an 18" barrel without problems..

Gifted and Twoblink you can blame Oly Arms for that. They have an AR 15 style rifle chambered in everything from 9mm to .243 WSSM and they all seem to work from what I hear.

Shortly after the 1st varient, the 9mm, was developed Colt made one to market to government contracts and the tradition of pistol caliber ARs was begun. I have plans for 3 ARs including a 10mm. If I get around to it I may one day end up with a .223 AR but it's 4 or 5 down on the AR want list.

I love wierd actions and guns, as long as they work ;)

ID_shooting:

Are you talking about doing the conversion yourself? I'm in Boise too, and I might be willing to go into this with you. I'm thinking a Hi-Point carbine in .40 S&W might be a good, inexpensive platform to experiment with. Interested?
