Yep, they're in cahoots :(
The Brady Campaign is on the "technical advisory group" for the National Fire Protection Association's "Risk Watch" program.

(Sparky is a NFPA character)
(And don't ask me what guns have to do with fire safety.)

Sent them an email asking why they only chose to use the Brady Center's info and nothing from the NRA. Curious to see what nonsense they'll send back.
I'm kinda po'd because I'm a fireman, but then given the lovefest between our union and Gore I guess the PC disease must be quite contagious.:fire:

That "TAG" group reads like an attendance list at a Sarah Brady barbecue. CDC and Johns Hopkins indeed!

From the Parents Page of the website:
In 1998, 121 children ages 14 and under died from unintentional firearm injuries, primarily during recreational activities or at home.
What happened to the "12 children a day" Sarah? This one only works out to 0.331506849315 per day.

Email I fired off...
As a past chief & member of a volunteer fire department for over 19 years, I am sickened to find that you have partnered with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence with your Risk Watch program. They have developed no gun safety programs other than the banning & confiscation of all firearms. The NRA has an Eddie Eagle program designed to educate children about the dangers of unsupervised handling of firearms. The efficacy of this progam can be shown by the fact that the number of children killed accidentally by firearms has dropped to the lowest levels since records of this type have been kept.
I suggest you partner yourself with an organization that actually knows something about the subjects you care to deal with. Going to the Brady Campaign for information on firearms would be akin to going to the Police Academy to learn about firefighting! Absolutely useless.
