Hello to all,

A friend recomended your forum as "the best". Hope to make more friends here. I'm NRA member. Shoot and hunt. Use to shoot skeet competively but now infrequently shoot some shotgun sports for fun. Still shoot some local 22 rifle events. Like to hunt - have squirrel dog also hunt deer, hog, ducks and turkey. Like to shoot targets - Currently have two project rifles I'm working on; A remington 270 sendero (hence the name) and an old 1939 Mauser. I'm in the process of replacing the scope on the sendero for special deer hunt this fall and in the process of sporterizing the 8x57 Mauser to a scout rifle configuration for a hog hunt. Also, Like to reload for shotgun and rifle too.

and an old 1939 Mauser. ... in the process of sporterizing the 8x57 Mauser to a scout rifle configuration for a hog hunt

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! :banghead: :banghead:
I can't condone sporterizing C&R guns.

But, anyway, welcome aboard. This is the best there is. I'm a member of over a dozen gun boards, and my counter here is ten times higher here that any other except one.

And about that Mauser, it is your gun, so go ahead and change away.
