So I'm watching the news (not by choice, it was just on in the restaurant) and they had a horrible story on..

A couple, married some almost 60 years, found their dog dead one day. They take him to the vet, and the vet is horrified, because the dog died from poison.. So the vet tells the couple to not live in their house while and investigation is done.

The dog had some 100,000x the lethal limit of pesticide in him, so at first, they thought the 80 something year old couple poisoned, but why would they bring him into the vet and not just bury him..?

So, they investigate, and find, someone dumped something like 5 gallons of pesticide into the drinking water reservoir for that house!

It was found to be the son, who was 50 something, who had done it. Just why, nobody knows... It wasn't for the money, the parents already signed everything to the son. The parents said they've never argued.. The parents as you can imagine, are just sad at this situation.. The interview the man's son, who can't explain either why "dad" would want to kill grandpa and grandma..

Sad sad sad... this is what our society has become... AND SO>>>

A POLITICIAN STAND UP IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, AND SAYS, "IN LIGHT OF THIS SITUATION, WE NEED TOUGHER KNIFE CONTROL, GUN CONTROL, AND VIOLENCE CONTROL LAWS." :cuss: :banghead: :cuss:

Err... he tried to kill his parents with pesticide!! There was no knives involve (all guns are banned here already!!) and what on God's green earth is "violence control"? Pass a law not to attempt murder on family members?? The law already exists you moron!! :cuss:

All this shows (to me) is that if someone wants to kill someone else, regardless of guns, knives, etc... they will try to find a way.

I almost thought for a moment that Gray Davis spoke chinese!!

Are all politicans this hot to trot on bad news, and use it as an excuse for more (insert any item here) control?? (Stupidity is without borders!!)

The short answer...YES. :(

My two Philosophies regarding politicians;

1. The only difference between Dem's and Repub's is the subterfuge they use to pry open your wallet.:fire:

2. There are only two types of politician, those that are corrupt and those being corrupted. :banghead:

Somebody Please prove me wrong.:(

From The Hunt for Red October:
Listen; I'm a politician which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops. But it also means I keep my options open.

Yes, they are all the same, everywhere. One or two years ago two police officers were murdered by a right-wing criminal using an illegal handgun. That didn't keep that states interior minister from demanding stricter gun laws. For what? They'll use any pretext.

Politicians only care about power, votes, and money. Political parties, race, gender, or other groups/qualifiers are unimportant.
Exceptions these days are so rare that we should invent a new cliche to express it.

I have always thought, sending all politicians to Iraq is a great idea! Let them ruin the country from the inside!!!

I was just shocked that he didn't say "I'm for women's rights!" As if attempted murder of your parents has anything to do with anything he wants to legislate..

Yes. The struggle of freedom vs. government is something that is eternal. Fortunately though, in the U.S., we have more non-violent options to facilitate political change than many other countries.

No, there are good politicians. Sadly, though, they seldom go past the most local level and those who do don't tend to last long. You can't play the game and stick to decent principles. The sole exception I can think of *might* be Ron Paul and I wouldn't stake my life on that, either.
