looking for a low power scope and i came accross this one at gander mountain today. bushnell 3200 1.5-4.5 with a firefly reticle. seems you use a flashlight to charge the phospurous reticle and it glows for hours, anyone have one or used one? worth looking into? the scope seemed fine just that the reticle was quite thick. any opinions?

I discovered the new-generation Phosphor stuff on a Wal-Mart watch I bought last year. Glowed so long, I thought I had bought some Chinese radium!!

Then I bought some of the paint myself. Even on partial charges, you get useful glow for at least an hour. Love it, and have put it on some sights. I expect that scope to work quite well. If done right, it will already be charged up at the end of the day, but an early morning jaunt would require the flashlight charge.

IME, thicker is better when the glow-sight is farther away than your thumbs (handgunning). Since the scope reticule is optically at infinity, thicker is probably better there, too.
