To anyone who might have the Desantis Nemesis pocket (or otherwise) holster: are these thinner and more giving/flexible/relaxed than a standard leather pocket holster (which can be somewhat rigid)?

I have two DeSantis Nemesis for a S&W J-frame and a Keltec P32. I absolutely love this holster and use it exclusively whenever I have to pocket carry.
The Nemesis is thinner and more flexible than any leather holster out there. I tried a leather holster for my J-frame and found it felt too much like a brick in my pocket. I tried to bend the leather so that it would form more to my leg but the darn thing was stiff as a piece of wood. I had heard of many people using the Nemesis and decided to give it a try. For the money these is the best pocket holster I have every handled. They work great for front pockets, rear pockets, jeans, Khakis everything. I bought my first Nemesis directly from DeSantis for the full price. They sent it out promptly along with a really nice catalog. I purchased my second one from the blue press (Dillon). Great holster, buy one you will not be dissatisfied.

That sounds terrific...the Nemesis then seems to address all the other concerns I had about my current leather pocket holster for my P3AT.
The image at the Desantis sight only shows the holster from the right side, the outside/non-printing side. Does the other side have the moulding to the gun (as most leather types have) to help keep it immobile and act as a type of moulded trigger guard...or is the other side similiar to the right, and the unit is more of a two-sided pouch? If so, any problems with the gun moving around or being jostled?

The Nemesis does not have a hard backing similar to those found on leather pocket holsters like a Kramer pocket holster. There really isn't any need to have a hard backing on this type of holster since it is soft sided. The material is thick enough to mask the profile of the gun and comfortable enough to contour to your body. I use my holster regularly with my P32 and you wouldn't even know that I had it in my pocket. When I carried it in a leather holster it looked like I had a thick wallet in my pocket which was not very comfortable.
The is no moulding on either side of the holster to keep the gun in place. On leather holsters the moulding is used to hold the gun in place. There is also no trigger guard. The Nemesis is not as secure as a leather moulded holster but it does hold a gun securely just not as strong as a leather holster. I've read posts of people who have stated that their HG's had fallen out of similar soft sided holsters. I have never had this happen and I really don't see how it could especially since the material of your pocket is keeping it in.
The tacky material of the Nemesis works wonders on keeping your holster where you want it .... in your pocket. When I was using a leather pocket holster and I practiced my draw, more often then not my hg would come out with the holster attached. With practice I was able to cut my odds but not to 100%. When I use my Nemesis I have 100% clean draws.
For the money it is worth trying one out. If you don't like it you can always sell it in short order. Give it a whirl and let us know what you think.

Truth be told, a Nemesis is a great holster

The nemesis works great on my P3AT. It is in my pocket as we speak.

Great Holster for pocket carry! I have 2 of them (for different guns). I haven't tried a lot of pocket holsters but I don't see how you could improve on the Nemesis.

I love my Nemisis for my P3AT. Light, cheap, easy to draw from, comfortable in the pocket.

Ditto what everybody else said. Don't waste your money on those overpriced pocket holsters. The Nemesis gets it done.

Thanks, everyone -- okay, I'm convinced. I'm ordering one tomorrow, direct from the manufacturer. We'll see how it compares against this beauty...as we all know, sometimes function trumps form.

How well will it work for a 1 7/8" 642? (I've got one coming in 10 days :D ) The Desantis website says J frame 2-2 1/4", is that a little long?

Hey, it's working OK until you send the pocket holster I ordered a while back. Anticipation and good leather. They always go together. :D

AWWW MANNN!!!!! My people were supposed to talk to your people...MN now has a "blue" law about leather holsters...Due to the recent occurance of "synthetic mad cow" ALLLL residents of MN MUST order at least 1 LEATHER holster per house hold...Sorry dude..its the law!!!
your order will of course take "precedance" over the other 2 million orders I can expect to be forth coming..

I have a Desantis Nemesis for my seecamp but I haven't been entirely satisfied with it. It tends to print the seecamp's grip slightly with some of my jeans. I recently ordered and just received a Hedley Rear Pocket Holster for my Seecamp and I'm thrilled with it! Thanks RJ!

I have a nemesis, that I carry my G-26 Glock in, in pants with large pockets it works great. I also bought one for my 36 chiefs special. I used it one time. On the first day I had the shocking experience of my chiefs special j-frame falling out of my pocket onto the floor while I was seated in my office.
Fortunately no one saw it and I was able to recover it.:what:
I then bought a desantis leather J-frame pocket holster that I used for a year and a half and it worked fine. I bought a Kramer holster 6 months ago and it works well also.
The nemesis works great for my glock though so go figure.

I've carried a KT P32 and a Kahr PM9 extinsively in Nemesises. After a year or so they seem to loose their rigidity and "stickyness". Mine also tended to print more one they were broken in. Luckily they are cheap enough that buying a new one every year won't break the bank!

Well, the Nemesis arrived yesterday, but I just don't care for it as much as the Hedley holster I already had. Glad I tried it, but I'll stick with what I have.
FYI, I'm selling it off here (http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=2503;action=display;num=1095960998;start=0#0) if anyone needs to pick one up. Package says it fits a Tomcat, NAA Guardian .380, Rohrbaugh R9 and, of couse, a P3AT.
Seems like a good holster...just in this case, more of a personal preference.
