I really do hope, while our attention is rather diverted from things due to GOP convention, that there are no "end runs" around the sunset.
Are we watchful? Feinstein has been quiet lately.
BTW: Midnight tonight to Midnight 13 Sept is 336 hours... anyone have a count-down clock?

Excellent website.
It's my understanding that only a roll call vote could save this terrible legislation. I don't know if that is a fact or not but if it were so we know who the faces are that would likely call for a roll call vote. DiFi, Chucky etc and their kind.
Wonder if Kerry and Edwards would take a shot at a RCV in their chamber if they had a chance?:)
Not sure that small handful of supporters would be at any hazard bringing it to a RCV but there are just too many people on the list of antis in the Congress that would be afraid of it I can't see the Brady bunch even getting that far.

I Think I'm going to buy a AK just to piss off the antis.

Thanks for that - great clock.
Also, that link to officer.com has shown me - straight out - that the rank and file police officers are pro "kill-the-AWB". I guess the political part of Leo-Land (High Command) walks and talks the PC of the day, huh?

Until midnight tonight (1st), isn't it 13 days? It expires midnight the 13th, right? One minute after midnight is the 14th.

Thanks, but why "11" days?
I think you're on to something. If you take the hours and minutes that brings you to midnight tonight (9/1). 11 more days would be midnight 9/12. I think it should be 12 days.
Whatever - it's still a neat site and there doesn't appear to be much hope of renewal.

I think the Dems might let this go and then try to use it against Bush in November.

Add this URL to your desktop to have the countdown appear:
http://www.mikecaswell.com/awcountdown.gif
In XP: right-click on your desktop, click on properties, go to Desktop tab, click on Customize Desktop, go to Web tab, click on New, paste above URL into Location dialog box, click OK, click OK. Make sure new URL is checked and click OK twice.
The countdown timer should appear somewhere on your desktop. You can drag or resize the graphic by holding your mouse pointer near the top of the graphic for a few seconds. The title bar should appear. Drag from the title bar to move, drag from the corners to resize.
