Less than two weeks until we are inundated by the "flood" of assault weapons on our streets and we don't want any drowning casualties on THR.

Actaully, I am hoping for someone dumping a WASR 10 for $100 so they can get a real AK - my wife wants one, and we be poor....:(

I've been thinking about buying ALL the various "evil features" - carbon fiber foreguard, CAR type collapsable stock (or maybe a folding stock), bayonette mount, everything I can find...

...and bolting them onto a Marlin 357Mag levergun.

Think of it. A genuine "Redneck assault rifle" :p.

OR a "California assault weapon" :(.

.....and an extended magazine tube going a foot or two past the muzzle...

On the flip side here...when the WASR-10s and stuff start dumping and get down to $100 I am going to buy some stuff no one wants As long as they work and are in good shape. (I'm basically set on regular capacity already so I just want to have fun with some stuff I can abuse).

------------Cheap guy looking for a EBR alert------------------------

How much will the price of a Bushmaster or similar come down??? Uppers??? Lowers???

September 2, 2004, 08:49 AM
I'm betting that the prices of NIB rifles and such will not see a significant price drop. Magazines will likely be priced about what you see for LEO mags now. Where I expect to see the real drop is on the used market. No more $100 Glock 19 mags!

And, yes, I will be in the buying mood, come 9/14!:D

I have an elaborate system of canals, dikes, dams and drainage pipes all leading to the armoury at Alcazar del Tejon.:D

Nobody's explaining to me why WASR's are going to tank.

The only difference between a pre-ban and a post-ban AKM is a slant brake and a bayo lug. Big deal.

I should invest in folding & collabsable stocks; everybody and their brother is gonna want one of those... :uhoh:

I have been contemplating getting a folding stock on my AK 103, but yesterday I realized that I never did like these before the ban was about to expire, so why should they suddenly become attractive? Irrational exuberence may be hitting us all. The only change to my AR I think I'll add is a collapsible stock.

I wonder if Armalite (TM) will use the old type or an improved latch (Like the one from the Galil or the FN Para, on their Folding Stock AR-180B?

Who will be sorely tempted, because I missed by chance at a Model 72 Sako.

oh yes CHEAP USED "post-ban" AK type rifles... where do I get em? :)

I don't own any guns.

I've thought about it, but so far haven't convinced myself that I need to buy a gun.

I've always been against "assault weapons" but through gentle explanation and persuasion from several knowledgable friends, and from this site, I've come to realize that my view on this subject has been very wrong.

I may, however, buy a gun just to celebrate the death of this law.
