Looking for Hogue or Pachmayr grips for a Colt 1917 revolver.
I looked at their catalogs and they talk about frames and stuff but do not mention the 1917. So, anybody that has actually mounted rubber grips on one, please chime in with the model or cataloge number.

The lanyard ring was removed by a frame pin and can be replaced easily, yuk, yuk!

You want grips for a Colt New Service (which is the commercial version of the M1917.)

They are no longer made -- I found a set of Pachmayers for my New Service on www.gunbroker.com.

They pop up on ebay every now and then, look for the Colt New Service. I have an Colt New Service in 38-40 with a 7 1/2" barrel. I didn't care for the looks of the Pachmayer grips because they didn't look "right". I instead opted for the Tyler T-grip which allows you to still have the classic lines of the New Service yet is easier to grip. You have to remove the lanyard swivel from the bottom of the grip or you can cut a hole in your grips for clearance when using the Pachmayer.
