Hey all, I just wanted to know where you guys thought the best places to buy ammo online were. I use aimsurplus.com and palmettostatearmory.com, but I only ever buy 9mm and 45. Are there a number of online retailers you check before making a purchase?

Also, what calibers are you buying? I've found that 22lr is cheaper at Walmart, but 9 and 45 is always cheaper online.

ammotogo.com
cheaperthandirt.com
centerfire systems

9mm or 7.62x25, .40 short n weak

I have a local sporting goods store here that beats anything that I have found online for target ammo, Blazer brass at $9.97 for 9mm and $13.99 for .40, I buy Blazer .22 for $1.79 a box on sale at a local farm and home store and stock up when they are on sale. Haven't found anything online that gets me a better deal unless I buy a load of it.

aimsurplus is great.

I happen to work about 15 minutes from their warehouse, which is in Middletown, Ohio. If you live close, you can arrange to pick the stuff up and not pay shipping. That's a win.

Any vendor that sells what I need? Honestly, I have to order from a half-dozen vendors to get what I need. I though the ammo shortage would have eased by now, but that doesn't seem to be the case. .22LR (*NOT* high velocity) seems to be impossible to find anymore. Ugh...

I'm in the St. Louis area. Any chance you and your local sporting goods store are also?

I buy from grafs.com when they have good deals. Can't beat their 5$ shipping. I also live close so my deliveries are usually next day.

Grafs is in Mexico mo.

Thanks guys.

@SpentCasting: That isn't scanned or necessarily up to date - it's user submitted. The prices on AimSurplus change throughout the day.

I'm actually working on ammoscanner.com in my free time, so I'll add a couple of the ammo sites here.

Constant checking is the key on cheap ammo.
I bought 500 rounds on a GunBroker bid today of UMC 9mm delivered for 11.19 a box.
I actually was looking at past bids from a couple of weeks ago and saw that a guy came in and won a bid for 1000 rounds of Independence 380 ammo for $52.00.
That guy is luckier than the law allows.
Again though what I am saying is keep looking constantly for daily deals, sleeper bids, free shipping deals, etc.
It's there.

Sgammo and Ammo To Go tend to be pretty good. I usually try to buy from places that carry the LE ammo packs. It makes the SD rounds more affordable and the practice rounds are usually well priced.

So many sources. I'll knock off the easy ones first for my project. I get updated prices and live shipping (only to my address for now) every 7 minutes.

I think shipping varies as much as the actual prices, which is a pain.

I buy 22 bulk from walmart for 18 dollars, and 100 rd boxes of winchester 45 acp for 34 dollars. Everything else comes from cheaperthandirt, sportsmansguide or if I have no other choice cabelas (they do give a free drybox if you buy bulk).

I've used Ammo To Go for several years and am VERY happy with them. If they list it, it is in stock, the cost of shipping is fair, and great follow up. I also order range ammo from Georgia Arms, again great pricing, fast shipping and quality ammo at good prices. The only drawback is they don't always have the best selection of .357 Magnum ammo.
