Whitch 9mm die?

My guess is no, probably won't be able to adjust the dies down enough to seat or crimp properly.

Can't help with the sizing die, but why bother if you need to return for the other two reasons?

Looking at the drawings for the two cartridges, the taper is different between them. The 9x21 sizer die may not size the mouth of the 9x19 case enough.

But some dies really do not size the case back to the original taper but have a sizing ring sized only for the case mouth.

The other issue may be in the seater die. The longer die may not be short enough to remove the flare in the case mouth of the 9x19 case.

Unless those dies are old I don't think Lee makes 9X21 dies. I looked at their site and they list only 9X19 dies so I'm at a loss as to why your paperwork lists 9X21.

It is possible the paperwork is wrong, not the dies. Lee dies are stamped on the side with what caliber they are for. Take a look at the dies themselves and see if they are marked 9X19 or 9X21. First see what the dies are stamped, look at the slightly indented band on the side of the dies.

My Hornady set is designed for both 9x19 and 9x21. Perhaps that is true for your Lee set as well.

IIRC, my Lee 9mm dies have both 9x19 (or 9mm Luger) and 9x21 marked on the paperwork. Never even held a 9x21 cartridge let alone loaded one; my dies have made lots of 9x19 that worked alright for me!

Similarly, the Lee dies I use for 10mm loading have both .40 and 10mm on the paperwork (and may have .40 on the die itself).

Same is true with my Lee .357/.38 dies. Come to think of it, all my handgun Lee dies are multi-caliber dies.

If you're nervous about it, you could call Lee. And/or you could make a dummy round and see if it fits and headspaces in a 9mm chamber.

OK, it made me go check mine -lol- The dies have Lee-9mm stamped on them, my 7-31-2003 instruction sheet for my Deluxe 4-die set states 9mm Luger or 9mm Parabellum.

I don't have the 3-die instructions which could be different?

The 9mm Luger is the 9X19 or 9mm Parabellum. You have the correct dies and the paperwork tells you that.

My RCBS 9mm set is for Luger/x21/x23. Same dies for each different size 9mm.

Just checked. Mine, like the OP's, is marked "9mm LUGER . 9x21mm," as I recalled. Like 10mm/.40 dies, they must do double duty.

You're not the only one to be confused buy the same exact cartridge having more than 1 name yet they are all the same.

The 9X19mm has at least 3 names it goes by and the .380 Auto has even more.

It can be called: .380 Auto, .380 ACP, 9X17mm, 9mm Short, 9mm Browning, 9mm Kurz, 9mm Corto and probably a few more I can't remember right now. All are correct and all are the same exact cartridge, what a mess that one is! lol
