Has anyone ever made one of these? Would there be much market for one?

I'm done with 357 magnum for the most part, however a 7 shot medium frame 357 would be a nice thing to have around the house, I'm just thinking that a 7 shot 9mm would be even better.

My mom can't shoot autos and my wife just plain doesn't like them. They both love 38 special revolvers, so the 357 works just fine, I just would not mind dropping 38 from my inventory.

Charter and Taurus have the 9mm pocket revolver covered, I just would like a nightstand size gun.

On the other hand maybe 38sp +p is just what I'm looking for??

you answered your own question

What you need is a pre-lock, pre-MIM model 10

It is everything you need and nothing you don't.

BTW...that 7th shot is not important...just hit what you are aiming at with the first 6

That's a great suggestion. I've never seen one local, though, and I have never ventured into the online auction scene. Maybe I should give it a try.

J&G sales and Bud's Guns oft have Model 10 police trade ins for under 300 bucks

Find a local FFL that won't hose you too bad. Mine charges 10 bucks.

15 or 20 is more common. Many gun stores will "punish" you for ordering online and charge high amounts.

When I was a young'un I always wanted the hot, new "cool stuff".

At the time the double action auto was the hot thing. Horrendous idea. Let's have one long squishy trigger pull followed by the rest that are crisp and clean.

Then someone said..."let's make all the trigger pulls the same" and so they made them all pretty horrible...and thus the double-action-only auto was born. (I bought a Smith Model 59)

At some point I realized that some pretty smart folks had already worked out some really good solutions to the problems. (I didn't fall for that one!!)

Dad's old Colt Diamondback with the flat nosed lead bullet worked pretty damned well. Those funny looking old Colt target guns sure did shoot good. And those long barrels maybe didn't look "right" like a 4" but they sure were easy to shoot well.

Ruger made the Speed/Service/Security Six in a 6 shot, 9mm. Not sure which one, maybe all three models, but I know for sure that in one of those models, a 9mm was available. I have never seen a 7 shot 9mm revolver. Smith and Wesson also made a 9mm revolver, but I know nothing about it. I have the Taurus 905, and would recommend it. Its not a medium frame, as Im sure you know, but I sure do like mine.

Those are hard to beat. Old guy had one with 4" slim barrel in very good condition for $349. He would proly take a little less too. There is no way to go wrong on something like this.
