new Tarantino western: Remmie love

It will be interesting to see how they treat the need to load them and whether or not they carry cartridges in their belts

More like the Union didn't want to pay for the expen$ive guns & pile the price of the expen$ive ammo on top of that. Plus the military commands of the world had a real problem with repeaters for another 30+ years after their introduction for fear of the soldiers in the field burning thru their ammo and outrunning the [long, slow] logistics chain of that time.

The 44 Henry was really more of a glorified pistol round anyway, roughly equivalent to the 10mm Auto of modern times [and that's out of a much longer barrel! ] What do you expect? After all, the Henry rifle was just a continuation of the original Volcanic pistol development.

It was the assault rifle of it's day, firing a relatively low-powered [vs. the battle rifle of the time] round & making up for its lack of range & penetration by volume of fire.

I saw the teaser in the movies a few weeks ago when I saw "Lincoln". I thought it looked interesting until they started speaking. Not what I would call a "Western" movie.

Then I saw and heard the pin head Jamie Fox on Saturday Night Live. He was promoting his movie. What he had to say about the movie wasn't very good. He got away with it being a "comedian". If anybody else said the things he said, there would be the devil to pay.

For me, based on his vile spewing, I won't see another of his movies.

That's just me.

Finally, a movie with some and I do mean some historically accurate firearms. From what I've seen, the plot may not be that accurate.

I don't see any reason to apologize. Your opinion is as valid as any other.
My son and I disagree about Tarantino films. He thinks they're fabulous and I think they're without valid plots and senseless. We don't apologize to each other.

Granted I love a good Western but this movie isn't a Western by my definition and from what Foxx was doing on SNL, I don't think I will be giving him any money either.
Now if you want a good Western with historicaly accurate firearms, look at Johnson County War with Tom Beringer or even better yet, any Western with pro-gun Tom Selleck in it from Last Stand at Sabre River, Monte Walsh, Quigley, or Crossfire Trail. I mean, when was the last time you seen an Evans carbine in a movie? Yup, in Crossfire Trail is the only place I seen one. Then again, how about Costner and Duvall in Open range? Not many times you see an 1875 Remington in film (other than Crossfire Trail again) but Duvall uses one in this movie. For the front-stuffing rondevours here, there is the old 1972 classic Jeremiah Johnson that can get your fill of hawken goodness!
Nope, I think I'm going to pass on Jamie Foxx movies and put the Sacketts in the old DVD player again instead!

Gotta love my short Remington; but not in the hands of Jamie Foxx; that guy's nothing but a turd in my opinion. Tarrentino is only slightly better, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the reloading sequences.

Grunt, you must have the same boxed set of three that I do; along with "Quigley" On a separate boxed disc (again, like mine). Four of my favorite movies. It's interesting how Selleck, who started out playing at being 'undercover' while buzzing around Hawaii with his entire forehead sticking out above the windshield of a red Ferrari 308 on TV; was more 'period-correct' in his westerns. Gotta give the guy credit.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that hates Tarantino's movies. I will not give that man another dime. I am glad to see the black powder guns in the commercials though but that is not enough to make me want to pay to see that movie.

Tarantino's movies are crap and Jamie Foxx is terminally stupid, as well as being untalented.
I will not spend my time, nor money watching any piece of dog excrement featuring that pile of cat vomit.

I'm with Double Duece on this one. I love westerns and really wanted to see this one till jamie foxx opened his mouth. I'll never send a nickel his way again.

to each his own but ive been waiting for this movie for awhile, been a tarantino fan since reservoir dogs, looks like fox uses a couple 1851's in a few scenes.
politics aside i'm excited to see it even if its got remmies in it, willing to overlook that

I was thinking about watching that, until I saw Jamie Foxx on there. I'm not going to watch any commie movies even if they have a couple Remmies in them. That thing that slightly resembles a man makes Forrest Gump look Steven Hawking smart. I'm with Jaymo and the others on this one.

Of course even if it starred Clint Eastwood I probably would just wait for it to come out on Netflix. The last time I was in a movie theater was when I was 15 But I drank too much homemade wine, so I had to get up every five minutes and go to the latrine so I missed half the movie! :banghead: Although I might go to a movie if something seriously good is playing.

I will most likely watch a movie starring a short '58 NMA. One of my favorite shooting stars.

I liked Dusk til Dawn: The Hangman's Daughter. Black powder guns and Vampires....what's not to like?

They don't reload them. It's Hollywood.

Movie is definatley not kid friendly but I enjoyed it for the most part. Dr. King Shultz is worth the watch.

Interestingly, Foxx appears in the current anti gun PSA that essentially asks "how many more" and purports to find a "solution."

Here's one: quit glorifying violence, including gun violence, in your movies.
