Dear THR:
Which 1911 to get from ones listed. I want it for daily use with top notch accuracy and collection value as well. Irrespective of price, its not going to be a safe queen.

Please share experiences if any.

Thank you

PS
1. Price range $2500-$10,000
2. Not considering Sig Sauer, DW, Colt and Kimber
3. Not interested in item that has ridiculous wait time

Would you really buy A $7000 1911?I love firearms and 1911s but............. to each his own.Ed Brown all the way!

I had a Wilson CQB, that for $2000 used was absolutely perfect in fit and function. I've had Springfields, Colts, Kimbers - Wilson was far and away 3-5 times the gun any of those were.

I voted "other". I've been checking into the higher end guns lately myself and right now would buy something from Volkman Precision if I were going to spend what you are considering spending. They are for the most part priced right in the same range as the Les Baer's, Ed Brown's and Wilson's. I don't know that any one is "better" than the others. I would expect them all to be extremely accurate and reliable at the prices they sell for.

(By the way, I WAS checking into them. Then I woke up from the dream I was having where I spend that kind of money on a gun and went out and bought a new Colt; box-stock, 5" barrel, blued "1991".)

Other.. If I'm gonna drop that on a single gun (upper spectrum) it will be from the likes of Chen, Rogers, Tussey, etc. not something I picked out from a catalog.

I'm very happy with my Wilson and Brown. However, anyone can buy the same exact ones.

A 1911 does not have the ability to be carried BOTH DA/SA and C&L. The H&K USP can. Therefore it is not superior and I would sell all my 1911s (if I had them) regardless of their follow-up shot speed.

Make it in FDE with a threaded barrel and that's perfection. Maybe. The P226 is also good, no?

So, you are looking for a 1911 nut with direct experience with just shy of $ 40,000.00 worth of handguns so direct comparisons can be made. I thought I was a republican but I'm starting to think redistribution of wealth.......and land reform! Viva Che!

I'll probably be buying a 1911 soon. And, the only one I'm considering is a Colt.

If you are going to have only one 1911, then it should be a Colt. IMHO.

Never mind I was mistaken on your post and thought you wanted a carry piece. Whatever you get, post pics.

Myself? I'd get the XTAC...

I have always wanted a Wilson, so my pick is entirely biased.
