I can't wait Until Sept15 for South Carolina doe bow season. We could go earlier however I have not been able to get a deer yet with a bow and does are thick where we are so I figured I'd stack the deck in my favor this year and save the horn hunting for October if need be.
Any ways I would love to hear some stories and see some pics if anyone has them. Gotta scratch the itch a little bit.

We open the 28th. Deer all over back there. Hope they don't run off in the mean time. LOL Doe are legal here during bow season. I have never shot one with a bow, so if it walks, it dies....well, except for yearlings. Big doe is a legit meat deer, though.

I'm told the rut usually happens here during the bow season. I saved my 9 point rack from last year for rattling. Never worked, but might here just knowing the population density around here. A lot hinges on the buck/doe ratio, though, and I really don't have a handle on that. We'll see what happens.

I hear ya MC. Rattling doesn't work up there either. Bad ratio.
Any deer, except a yearling, is a trophy deer when taken with a bow IMO.

Bow season has been open for over 2 weeks in south Florida. I don't like sweating in 95 deg. temps and battling the bugs enough to go try it. I'll wait until Sept. 14.

i have to wait till oct 15 here in alabama... but its just too hot before then anyways i guess.
I don't know about down south but up here in the northern part of the state I would be in a stand today if the season was open. High is only supposed to be 79 today with just a slight chance of rain. But then again seeing the eight point in the field across from my house almost every morning might be partly to blame also.

Gotta wait till 10/1 here in OK. Plus it also depends on the weather too. It can still be pretty warm early October. An early kill makes for a quick butcher. The wife always complains when she is packaging warm meat. But it has been surprisingly cool and wet this year. So far we have only had a few 100+ days this summer. Last year we had like 52 of them. Drought is over and it's been green. I haven't seen if the white oaks are dropping bomb sized acorns yet. I will scout it out after labor day.

I went out yesterday and jumped the biggest buck of my life. A monster 3x3 with a spread that must have been close to 30 inches. Going back out tomorrow and saturday if needed. Thinking about pulling out the -06 but still kinda want to bag my first with a bow.
