Or concealment OWB. Small yes, but it is a fatty. Also would take suggestions on OWB, conceal holsters, which this gun may require. Just slipping the gun in waistband is kind of fat, at 3:00 or 4:00 without holster! No, Idont intend to carry like that, just for fitment purposes...

I'm 5'9" about 175, no big gut if that matters. Not looking for just "your favorite holster" but specific the this gun.

Thankyou for any and all comment,

Well... I was gonna suggest a Galco Avenger, which is the OWB holster I use for my Glock 19/26 (at 3 o'clock with a t-shirt), but looking at the Galco website I see it isn't offered for the Glock 30. :(

Good luck!

Right now there are seven holsters for that gun on the Crossbreed Seconds site, so you can try out one or two of their models on the cheap. Don't be too concerned about the label "seconds" - they look fine and are 100% when it comes to how they work.

I prefer a well made pancake style holster; the ears pull the gun in snug to the body. I have one for my G29SF that holds the gun great and is pretty comfortable.

EDIT to add: I have two IWB holsters, they are hardly ever used. I don't see the point since they are not nearly as comfortable as OWB. One of those is a Milt Sparks VersaMax so it's about the most comfortable IWB you're going to find.

ive been running a comp-tac minotaur for a few years carrying a 29 or a 19 fits awesome, don't notice it being there once you get it set where you like it

Again, thanks for the tips. If any arent aware of the 30S, it is the lower of the 30SF, with the slightly thinner slide of the 36. Unlike the 36, (single stack 6 round) it holds 10+1 like the SF. It is a little fatter, yet shorter than my 17.

Thanks again guys, much appreciated.

I went with a Galco Jak Slide & Galco 1 1/2" sport belt. Same setup in the pic.

I use a G30sf myself & I knew I didn't want an IWB. Didn't want to commit to an OWB either. Then came across this setup. Sorta best of both worlds. Rides OWB BUT inside the belt.
I've had zero retention issues & don't have to wear pants/shorts a size or 3 to big (for iwb)
I've only been using this setup for 7-8 months but have been very pleased thus far.

Sparks Nexus with a 30SF. I do not recommend it if you take your gun out for extended periods and leave the holster in place, because it does not have a reinforced mouth. For carrying a lot, and drawing little, it is a very nice, compact and comfortable rig. It rides much lower and has more cant than the VMII.

I switched to the 30S as my EDC a few months ago (previously carried a G27). I carry it in a Remora holster. I'll take a photo tonight and post it. I'm not allowed to carry at work so I pull the gun, holster and all, out and leave it in my vehicle while working, and then slip it back into my pants when I leave. The Remora is perfect for such situations.

I use an Uncle Mike's inside the pants holster, size 15. It's a type of laminate that feels like suede. I also just ordered a tuckable kydex holster from Cooks. I use that for my XDS .45, and have been happy with it. Both work well.

Thank for the suggestions folks, much appreciated. Its a lot different from carrying the Shield, and I can really use these different suggestions!

@ Groundsclown: I had never seen this, very different and seems to make sense for the 30 series Glocks...

Thanks, I would love to see it.

There are five guns I typically choose from for CCW; three of them are thicker than your Glock. I have no issues at all carrying a full sized double stack 9mm IWB. Obviously I'm not talking concealing in gym shorts and a wife beater, and just a T-shirt may not be enough cover for a larger gun.

I can't recommend my favorite holster to you I'm afraid. I always carry in a Garrett Silent Thunder IWB but I see they don't make one for your G30S. Is that an uncommon or new model?

Sorry I don't have more helpful advice.

Its been out for a while, but is somewhat new. SF lower with the upper of a 36.

http://www.smartcarry.com/ you have this smart carry holster that hides the gun in front that can be worn with any kind of outfit, shorts etc.it puts the buldge down in front, where a better illusion is beneficial.nrastore.org has shirts/jackets and vests with internal breast pockets on either side.
http://ccwbreakaways.com/ are pants with pockets on each side to hide weapons/mags.you could probably order these in shorts configuration.
i had to sell my g30 as the weight kept pulling my pants down all the time.these above items will even out the weight issue.

Here's how I carry my G30S as mentioned above (Remora holster).

If you buy a set of IWB soft loops, you'll get one holster that will allow you to carry either IWB or OWB just by changing out the attachments. You can also change the ride height and cant by moving those attachments around. It is a very useful holster for helping you figure out what mode of carry you prefer with just the one holster and a couple of attachments.

There are a couple dozen makers of similar designs, but RCS is probably the oldest and most well known.

I carry my G36 in a Summer Special style IWB holster and find it generally very comfortable. The G30s should carry virtually the same. I do have a bit more built in padding than the OP if that makes a difference, though.

It would have to be a huge pocket. This is worn IWB.
I picked one of these up at a gunshow today for the 30S. I see what you mean. The seller had a video of a girl in shorts and tee shirt with a couple of these things stuck in her pants. Despite jumping up and down and all around they stayed put.

I'll try a few more but this thing is quite innovative!
