    Marlin 1894c - Big 5 sale - no checkering?

I got one of those $299 Marlins in 45 LC. Never noticed that difference in checkering with or without. But I shoot 8mm Mausers M48As, and SKSs that don't have checkering. I also shoot Remington shotguns and Marline rifles with checkering. I don't think it's that big a deal. They all shoot...

I got a Davis .38 spl at a gun show. $68 out the door with a holster. I got it to use in Cowbay action shoot derringer matches and also to keep in my car's center console. I live in an open range area with lots of cattle, horses, and deer roaming the street. If one of them gets hit, then...

Met Sheriff Mack in Vegas last year at a gun show. He was just outside selling GOA memberships and signing his book. I joined GOA, got a signed book and entrance into the gun show. Also met him again a couple of months ago at a gun show in Tucson doing the same thing. I didn't know he...

People who confuse movies for reality...

I fired both barrels of my SxS 12 ga. coach gun at the same time once. Pulled both triggers slowly and both fired. Knocked me slightly off balance and ended up with a sore shoulder and sore jaw where my cheek was resting on the but all afternoon. I think the throbbing headache came about...

    FUNNIEST movie gun moments

That picture of Belushi reminded me of the movie The Blues Brothers. Two great moments was when Carry Fisher had an AR in her hands and had the brothers cornered and when all the LEOs and Army were chasing them in the building and had them cornered in the tax office. Love that movie !

    Pictures of "gongs?"

I've fired at 1 inch thick soft steel gongs at 50 yards with my 8mm Mauser and military surplus FMJ . Melted a quarter size all the way through and I do mean melted. The wall of that hole was smooth. Very impressive.

    Popular Mechanics does it again

I have an Interstate Coach Gun. I think it's also known as a Norinco model 99. It's a side by side 12 gauge shotgun with 20 inch barrels, 2 triggers, and exposed hammers. I use it in Cowboy Action Shooting. Got it at Big 5 in Tucson for $199.

For me the access is good ;) Don't tell anyone because this is my backyard but here's how you get here. Take the Dragoon exit and head south. It's open range here so watch out for cattle, horses, and deer. At mile marker 5 turn on Lizard Lane, you can only go one way, and head up the...

I live in unit 30B and play dodgem cars with deer regularly. Last night it was a doe that tried to get across the street. Biggest herd of deer lately was 1 buck and 8 does all crossing. I live right next to the north end of the Dragoon mountains and national forest. Got some great places...

what's the best powder & bullets for .45's

I've just started re-loading RNFP rounds for my .45LC and was wondering if anyone gets lead in their dies ? After a couple hundred rounds I noticed a lead buildup in the seating die. I got it cleaned out but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
