That would be correct. If you can't wait on the expander from Lee, do what I did and spend a couple extra bucks to buy the Lee 303 British FL Sizing die from your local gun shop and pull the expander out of it.
Update: I fired the remaining 150 rounds of 9mm (115gr MG JHPs over 4.0gr Bullseye @ 1.12 OAL) through a G19 and Beretta 92F with not so much as a hint of a stoppage. Should I be happy with the load I'm using or keep adjusting?
Does anyone shoot 9mm Glock in USPSA/IPSC matches that has a favorite handload they would like to share?
I currently have some 115gr JHPs but I'm open to using any bullet/powder.
OAL
Not by any means a pro at reloading, but I use the same bullets in my Kimber Custom Target II and it likes 1.24" OAL.
I tried 1.26 and 1.25 first BTW
Kentucky: By loading up some dummies I was able to replicate the problem, but only at OALs of 1.15+ and less than 1.11. Even then it fed most of the time. Thanks for the suggestion
RFWobbly: Thanks for the advice I will try maybe some small batches of 4.5 and 4.7gr
BDS: You know that's what I...
Yeah Kentucky that's exactly what I thought too. Makes me wonder if maybe 4.3 gr Bullseye is too light? Could this be the problem, or is it more likely the OAL of the cartridge?
Thanks for the replies. It's the mouth of the jhp impacting the bottom of the feed ramp squarely, without feeding up and into the chamber. I haven't had one feed partially up the ramp and get stuck if you know what I mean. The barrel is stock, so is the recoil spring and guide rod. Nothing polished
Hello,
I need some help trying to get the OAL right for a 9mm load for my Glock 19. This is what I've tried:
-Montana Gold 115 gr JHPs with 1.11-1.14" OAL
-4.3-5.0 gr Bullseye
For a while it seemed like 4.3 gr / 1.12" OAL was the best combo, but out of the last 400 rounds I had 3 get...
Hey all,
Anyone out there have experience reloading 7.62x54R for their Romak? I just ordered the Lee Pacesetter 3-die Set and Sierra Pro-Hunter 150gr .311 (after I slugged the bore to make sure it was .313" grove dia), I also ordered the larger diameter expander button to handle .311-.312...
