Should firearm safety be taught in public schools?.....

While I was in school.. which albeit wasn't incredibly long ago but has been a while.. most schools in my area had a "school resource officer". The SRO's (depending on the area) varied from local PD officers to State Police (as some areas didn't have a local police force aside from county...

    Walmart ammo & prices

The WM I visit (rarely...) may have selection (..price tags on the shelf), but they lack any form of some person with a key to open the ammo display within a 10 minute radius of the actual display. Oh, and in regards to the "price tags on the shelf", there may be a price.. but there sure as *#@...

Where on Earth have all the Kel Tec sub 2000's and Ruger SR1911's gone???

What area...? In regards to the Sub2000, I know of a place near me that constantly orders them and tries it's best to keep at least one in stock.. (I don't own one, but have a brother and a good friend that both own one in .40 S&W, both bought from said store..) Completely zoned out on the...

    Savage's Pros & Cons

@Inebriated: There are no ranges in my area that allow me to punch out that far.

    Savage's Pros & Cons

Owner of said rifle. The only dislike/con I can honestly say is I don't get enough time take my Precision Carbine to the range as often as I'd like. @OP: as far as I've ever heard, Savage has decent customer service, although I've never had to deal with that end of the spectrum. Any issues...

    Cheek rest or rings?

I understand the basics and fundamentals of shooting and shooting accurately. I was just looking for info/recommendations/experience for rings or cheek rest. If someone had a great experience with a rest out there I was looking for their insight or a link to a distributor or to a specific cheek...

    Cheek rest or rings?

Quite in agreement in regards to mounting as low as possible. They're just more aesthetically pleasing. I don't usually crank the bolt handle from the topside, at least that I notice. I was just paranoid thinking I would smack it. I might hop into a LGS or something tomorrow to see if I can...

    Cheek rest or rings?

I have a Savage 10 LE Precision Carbine that I mounted a SWFA SS 10x42 on last year, and I haven't fired it often (not that I don't like to, I just don't get a lot of time to go to the range..) I do have a slight issue that I can't figure out the answer to with the build, however. I used 3/4"...

    Springfield XD: .40 or 9mm?

I googled and found ballistics fine... just have to know what you're looking for... which is what I said in my first post. You would've had to specify what you were thinking of carrying primarily.. (or options that you were considering for carrying). I carry a Service XD-40, if you went .40...

What's a good rifle for a one handed shooter

I always keep my eyes open for rigs that tickle my fancy.. When I posted way back and a page or two ago I listed pros and cons for an AR.. and although my post might have seemed a bit biased against an AR for a one armed shooter, theoretically speaking, it's possible (along with any long...

    Springfield XD: .40 or 9mm?

Sounds like you're looking for specifications of ammo.. If you're looking for that and ways to compare them you should define what loads and what different ammo you're talking about.. (Federal HST... Speer Gold Dot... weight of what you're shooting... etc). Of course, you can also do a google...

    AR-15 accessories

I've never once heard of adjusting the front post with a bullet. If you aren't going to buy a front post adjusting tool, a nail works well enough.

    9mm horribly inaccurate

Reassembling it incorrectly shouldn't affect accuracy and precision.. if you put it together wrong it wouldn't be much but a paperweight after the first shot or no shots at all. Get your friend to fire it. Whenever I troubleshoot something, I look for consistency to help identify the problem...

What's a good M4 soft case that will allow a 30 round mag to be inserted?

That makes sense then.. I saw someone suggest it earlier.. if you're willing to sacrifice it, loading a 20-rd mag while it's in the case and having the 30-rd mags easily accessible is a decent alternative.

What's a good M4 soft case that will allow a 30 round mag to be inserted?

What state are you in...? I normally don't leave any rifle I own in a case unless I'm traveling.. in which case, if I recall in NY, I can't have a magazine inserted into the mag well, loaded nor unloaded, let alone would I travel with a mag or ammo in the same case as the rifle.. but that...

What's a good rifle for a one handed shooter

I keep seeing a lot of posts with AR or AR styled rifles.. (M4/M16, AK, etc styled civilian rifles... even bullpups..) In my humble opinion... AR has it's pro's and con's for a one-handed shooter. Pro's: 1. Magazine/capacity. 2. Semi-auto. (Ties in with mags/cap, you get a good sized...

    Another AR Suggestion Thread

I'm not trying to make an argument for the simple sake of it, just pointing out what you mentioned. DI v. piston can be considered part of your reliability and/or ease of maintenance in terms of keeping the rifle reliable..
