Went with the idea of resurfacing the lock stud. Used my hand drill and a piece of sand paper. Got it back to 1.749 and all is good for now. I only have about 80 pieces of brass to trim. Will get a new lock stud and cutter from Midway in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for all the replies. I will have an order to Midway in a couple of weeks (well, whenever they put Dogtown bullets back on sale) so I am just use as is until then. You don't shoot this much with a bolt gun, but the AR just makes it too easy.

I have a lee trimmer that you put in your drill with a shell holder. The cutter has a screw in shaft to set the trim length. It is cheap, simple and quick.
My holder has been used so much that the steel rod that controls trim length has worn a divot in the base of the shell holder. The...
I have an older Hornady, good press, but the primer feed never really worked. I have to place each primer in the primer arm by hand, it's not that hard.
Doesn't take long to train your left thumb. With the detent being so positive as you rotate the shell plate it really is no big deal to advance manually. Unless you are doing really large amounts of reloading in one caliber the 550 gets my vote.
I had both a 550 and a 650 and sold the 650...
I have one of their PCR rifles. No broken parts, fires every time and is as accurate as I am. Mine has a stainless barrel, so I guess it's not chrome lined. No complaints at all with this gun.

If you are planning on buying ammo or bullets or anything heavy or bulky, arrange to have the seller hold it for you or go back and buy it just before you leave. You really don't want to be hauling around a bunch of weight. A note book to record table locations is a must.
Have fun, wear...
I also just put a 10/22 together. Green Mountain barrel and Houge stock, already had some trigger work done. I also had some ugly groups at first but after some advise from the fine people at Rimfire Central(can I say that here?) I tried the bulk Federal Auto Match from Walmart. The 325 pack...
I guess you hear praise for Dillon because they deserve it. The customer service is second to none and the presses(at least my 550 and a friends SDB)just work, with a minimum of problems. The only complaint I have with my 550 is it tends to send spent primers flying in strange directions on...
Back in the day, really not that long ago, I cast my own bullets using wheel weights. Primers were 10.00 per thousand. I shot 38 Spc using range brass for less than I could shoot .22 lr. No longer true, but I still enjoy reloading. And you still can save money, or shoot a lot more.

Here is what I have. It's an old TV cabinet With casters and doors installed on the lower half. Compact, movable, and enough room. Have a Hornady 007 press, Hornady powder measure(which is great) and a Dillon 550. The shelves are for loaded ammo storage, I need to shoot more.
