    Where to find a M39?

I second Empire Arms. They're been around for some time and have a good reputation. Though the antique M39s at http://www.gunsnammo.com/ look good too. I have some antique ones, and a 1967 "sneak" M39. The M39 is DEFINITELY among the best of the Mosin Nagants.

    Swedish Mauser

Why don't you sell the rifle to somebody who appreciates a beautiful rifle like this in it's original configuration? Then take the money and buy a modern bolt action.

    Help with wwII 30-06 ammo

Another good way to clean up after shooting corrosive ammo is to use Windex on your patches for the initial cleaning. Make sure to get the bolt face and other places any residue may be. Then clean normally the way you would a gun that had shot non-corrosive ammo. Has worked for me for years.

    Need for high capacity magazines!

If they can restrict magazine capacity to 10 shots, they can restrict it to 1 shot. Any magazine capacity restrictions on us should apply to the police and ALL those who provide security to our present and former government officials. If high capacity is bad for me, it's bad for everybody.

    a good match for me.

An Springfield Armory DX45 Service or Tactical model with 230 grain hollowpoints. That way if the hollowpoint fails to expand, you still have the standard 230 grain slug that still makes a good hole with good stopping power. Yet the velocity is subsonic. They have a natural point of aim, and...

Is anyone else mesmerized by the .408 CheyTac?

About a week or so ago I finished building this 338 Lapua Magnum and can't wait til the weather is nicer so I can shoot it. I used a 338 Lapua Magnum Remington Model 700 Police Here's the parts I used to build it, and below is a picture of it. Everything just went together without any...

    Lee-Enfield: MKIII or No. 4?

The No4 MkII is the latest of the No4's. It's trigger is attached to the receiver instead of the trigger guard and will give a more consistent trigger pull. This change was done from the No4 MkI to the No4 MkII because it was said expansion and contraction of the wood of the stock would cause...

    more guns = more crime?!

Well then, if less guns makes us 'safer" according to our "leaders", THEY should set the example and get rid of all armed security that protects them. Then just go about their day to day business defenseless as their "own man" like they say we should. Then after a few years have passed and...

    Need help in an argument

In the late 1700's, the term "well regulated" meant "in good working order". So what they were saying was, so a free state can create a militia in good working order, they must be properly equipped from a base of citizenry who's right to keep and bear arms hasn't been restricted. Remember...

    Girlfriend Doesn't Approve of Carrying

My EX girlfriend of 5 years didn't approve of my carrying, and got upset if I even brought it into the house. In my experience, the issue will never go away, and will likely get to be a BIGGER issue with her the longer she's with you. It did for me. YMMV
