Anyone else experience a "carry related" injury?

After a long day of carrying with a too-tight belt, I noticed the the surface of my left thigh (just the skin,) was completely numb. I think I compressed a nerve or something, because it stayed numb for at least a few weeks. Now I know to not cinch down so tight, and also to check my rig if it...

How to legally get/make NFA weapons.

I think the term Title II is appropriate for AOW, SBS, SBR, MG, DD, and supressors. Class 3 refers to the dealer license required to offer such wares (there are many classes of licenses, each with varying degrees of authority to manufacture, sell, and transfer certainTitle II firearms.)

How to legally get/make NFA weapons.

IIRC, an aow can't have ever had a full stock. Doesn't matter, since the tax to make one is still $200. To the OP, I'd suggest shopping around to see if you can find your desired firearm ready-made. Cutting off the barrel would leave you with no choke. Pretty sure they make barrels that short...

    anti-gun comeback line thread

How do y'all reply to the "guns are specifically made to kill people," line? You try to debate these people with facts on deaths caused by cars, booze, cigarettes, swimming pools, botched medical care, but they always throw out "yeah, but those things aren't designed to kill/murder people."...

building a low pressure firearm with transparent materials?

I once modified my blowgun via a water bottle filled with MAPP gas. Torched the touch hole, and it hammered a clothes-hanger dart through a 2x4. Might be a good halfway point for you:):)

Overemphasis on caliber? Expect too much from a handgun?

As well as the "Oh god! I've been shot!" factor. Goats can process the pain, but they don't know they're supposed to fall and quiver like in the movies.

Did You Ever Do Something Stupid, like......

I got my thumb caught in the action of a China Cheapy air rifle. You know those ones you buy at tool sales for $20? Yep, that kind. Three stitches through my thumbnail, two on the underside, and a whole lot of aggravation while it healed. I made a carbon steel thumbnail to protect the...

    The Shotgun Slingshot!

I'm a big fan of all your slingshot videos. You have some great designs, and they look quite powerful. I'm thinking of building one myself. I love slingshots, but shelling out $4 for a band that I'll break in two days gets irksome:cuss: I'd love to have something sturdier, with more wallop to...

Daggers, Boot Knives & SD Folders

The grind is of little importance, IMOHO. The general user will find little difference between flat and spear/hollow grounds. In general, flat ground slices a little better, and looks a little prettier. The advantages of a hollow grind should not be discounted, though.

Do you have an Ammo Buddy?

In these trying time of varying ammo availability, it can be a good idea to have an Ammo Buddy. The general idea; Your Ammo Buddy notices a few boxes of a caliber you shoot at the local Wally World. He calls you up and offers to pick them up for you. You agree and later buy them at cost, with...

A gun for a highschool graduate

My first thought was of a Remington 870; tons of fun, versatile, and darn-near unkillable. It will last him several lifetimes (kids, grandkids, etc.) For a gift, I'd spring for a Wingmaster or a Police model, myself. Might run over your price limit, but then you might get lucky, too.

    stopped in at Wal-Mart...

Within the past few months, I've been seeing more ammo on the shelves at Wal-Mart. Found some WWB .45 auto and snatched up a couple boxes. I sold one to a friend who missed out. They turned up on the shelves again a couple weeks later, so I bought three more:) Need to schedule a range visit...

Missouri laws regarding pistols for under-21s.

I think so. Sorry:( I had to get an "office knife" (I work in a Federal facility,) in order to CMA. A "bus knife" might be in order for you. Not that I agree with the law; it's not as though you could hijack any more effectively with three inches of blade as opposed to two point five. I...

    Ever hurt by a firearm?

You know those China Cheapie pellet rifles you see at tool shows for twenty bucks? I got the tip of my right thumb caught in the breech of one of those. When you consider that it probably takes 25 pounds on a two foot compound lever to cock one, I'm surprised it didn't bite the end of my thumb...

    Concealed Carry By Census Takers

Sorry for the late reply. I worked the Address Canvassing operation in the spring, and I'm now employed at the local office. Every step I took as an Enumerator, I had a RIA .45 on my hip, condition 1. I was never made aware of any regulations regarding CCW, and I didn't ask, either. Now I know...

    1911 safety question????\

Yes, it is possible. You would need a new safety, and possibly a hammer pin and a sear pin. After that, you just need to fit the new safety.
